Feeling Down? Try Incorporating These High-Vibe Habits Into Your Life

Alright, besties — we’ve covered low vibrational things to cut out of your life. But now it’s time to talk about how to elevate your life and raise your vibration. Vibration is a spiritual concept that goes back to the law of attraction. Since everything in the universe is made up of energy, it vibrates at a specific frequency. When you’re living at a certain vibration, you will attract that same energy vibration back into your life. So, when we’re talking about living at a high vibration, you are actively putting out positive energy into the universe. This will attract things with positive energy back into your life, making it easier to manifest the life that you want. Lucky girl syndrome, who?

Even if you don’t buy into the spiritual side of vibrations, we’re at that point in the semester where all of our days are blending together. When we get into these funks, it might show up by neglecting our self-care. If you feel like you’re at a stagnant point in your life and you want to make changes, you’re not alone.

When you think of elevating your life, you probably think of typical self-care activities like drinking water and taking a walk outside. Whenever someone would tell me that these things will help my mental health, I would roll my eyes. But beyond these activities, TikTok users have also given us examples of high-vibrational things that they’ve started doing. Among them,  TikToker Ann-Marie (@annmarie.mm) created a series on things that she does to elevate her life. They just might be the trick for raising your vibration and helping you through a mid-semester funk.

Do vision boards regularly.

It could be quarterly or monthly, there’s no need for it to be a huge time commitment. This is just one creative way to start envisioning the life that you want for yourself. Rather than only making one at the beginning of the year and then never looking back at it (guilty), you can start to make them regularly. Your goals and intentions may change, so it could help to update your vision board. It doesn’t have to feel like a chore either – pop on some headphones and listen to your favorite playlist or podcast.

Capture fun moments throughout your day.

It’s time to enter your influencer era. One thing that some TikTok users have been doing to elevate their lives is creating mini vlogs of their days. You don’t even need to post them, just having them for your own enjoyment is enough. We always hear about how bad social media is for mental health, and how you need to cut it out in order to raise your vibration. But I’ve found that this approach isn’t very realistic for college students. Instead, social media can be a tool to elevate our lives if we choose to use it that way! This daily activity is an intentional way to practice gratitude, and you can tap into your creativity.

Nurture the female friendships in your life.

From social media, it may seem like everyone has these huge friend groups in college. But that’s not always the case. Consider yourself very lucky if you have a big group of girlfriends in your life – making friends is hard work! Cherishing these friendships and prioritizing them will only enrich your life more.

Embrace adventure.

Many TikTok users that participated in the “low vibrational things I cut out” trend have talked about how they have started saying no to things that they don’t want to do, unapologetically. As a people pleaser, I’m completely on board with this. But I also know that there are things in my life that I haven’t said yes to because I’ve let fear hold me back (the social anxiety is real). Becoming more adventurous and saying yes to more opportunities is just as high-vibe as knowing when to say no!

Post affirmations around the house.

There are so many ways to incorporate affirmations into your daily routine. You can say them to yourself in the mirror each morning or get an affirmations app with notifications. TikToker Ann-Marie chose to post her affirmations around the house so that she regularly engages with them as she goes about her day.

Try to practice grounding.

OK, hear me out on this one. The concept of “earthing” may seem strange, but it’s a real technique that TikTok users have started doing to raise their vibrations. Another name for it that has circulated on TikTok is “grounding.” It involves literally walking on the ground in bare feet, tapping into the Earth’s natural healing energy. I can’t think of many college students that stand outside in the grass barefoot, TBH. But if you’re bold and looking to raise your vibration, you might want to try it.

Try out a slow morning routine.

Name a worse feeling than leaving the house stressed and exhausted. Now that I’ve adopted a slow morning routine, it’s my favorite part of the day. Many TikTok users feel the same way, and they’ve started going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier so that they aren’t losing sleep in the process. Now there’s enough time to slowly wake up, stretch, and make a solid breakfast before going on social media or starting work — it’s a game-changer.

Wear clothes that make you happy.

If you’re on TikTok, you know that there’s a new viral product every other day. Whether it’s the Dyson Airwrap or an influencer promoting their Amazon storefront, TikTok has become one of the most powerful apps for consumers. On the fashion side of TikTok, influencers have also posted videos on how to “dress for your body type.” Hot take: there’s no need for any of that to influence the way that you dress! TikToker Ann-Marie says that, in order to elevate her life, she’s started wearing clothes that fit. I would add that you can try tapping into your own style, regardless of what’s “trendy” ATM.

Do something playful every day.

Sometimes we all need a reminder that life really isn’t that serious. TikTok user Anyiah Shardaé (@divinefemininetarott) talks about how playful activities such as dancing will instantly raise your vibration. So what I’m hearing is, that includes dancing at the frats and house parties? Elevate your life by hopping on that elevated surface, bestie.

Have a solid skincare and makeup routine that you love.

One of the best things you can do to elevate your life is to create beauty routines on your own terms. There are so many times that I’ve thought about experimenting with new makeup looks, only to convince myself that they won’t look good. Consider my life officially elevated now that I do my makeup for myself. Skincare is also one of the most basic self-care activities that everyone talks about — for good reason. There’s something so luxurious about having a solid routine, even if you don’t use expensive products.

Listen to high-vibe music.

High vibrational music doesn’t have to be music that literally vibrates at a high frequency (although it can be!). If you have a playlist with upbeat songs that put you in a good mood, that’s all you really need – throw on a song from Miley’s album and let the universe do its thing.
