5 Workout Classes In LA That Don’t Even Feel Like A Workout

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

A list of “LA lifestyle” workouts that are so tough, yet so enjoyable:

SoulCycle

A favorite of many including Youtuber, Emma Chamberlain. Described as your own “mini-concert,” SoulCycle provides a means of cycling that is amped up with high-level, pump-up music. An appreciated trait of Soul is that the room is dark and the lights are off. This allows for a feel of a more intimate, private session verses a public gym where you feel like everyone is staring at you. Ranging from Beyonce to Justin Bieber rides, SoulCycle is there to provide you with a ride that will have you belting your favorite artists’ songs rather than bawling out some tears with this 45-60 minute cycling class.

Training Mate

Seen on Khloe Kardashasians’ Reality TV Show “Revenge Body” is gym studio, Training Mate. Australian founder Luke Milton established a training philosophy that is family community-focused, referring to each individual as a “mate” (aka friend). The class is a HITT circuit with a 45-minute combination of cardio and strength training. Every instructor dances around as you muscle through the workout. This helps take your mind off of what you are doing, even allowing for a few dance moves between sets. And believe me or not, every instructor is a beautiful model so it’s easy to get through the workout.

Rise Nation

Home workout to celebs like Justin Bieber and Lebron James is a 30-minute class on indoor climbing machines. With a dark room and electric lights, it is said that you will be burning up to twice as many calories in comparison to other cardio workouts. And bonus, this studio carries a breathtaking grass outdoor patio that overlooks the homes of WeHo (perfect for an Instagram story pic after!)

Laughing Frog Yoga (Goat Yoga)

Baahhhhh-ma-stay. Yup, you didn’t read that wrong. This Santa Monica Boulevard studio not only carries your typical yoga classes but also “goat yoga” classes. As a yoga student, you will be experiencing goats leaping onto your back, maximizing your full stretch and mobility. Not only this, but after class you will be able to take pictures and hold the little celebrities themselves. You can check out a featured clip of the workout with Lisa Rinna, on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” And BIG news, they just added “puppy and dog yoga” to their class schedule.

Body by Simone

Located in West Hollywood and Brentwood, this studio was also featured on Khloe Kardashian’s show “Revenge Body.” It is owned by celebrity trainer, Simone De La Rue, who has instructed celebs like Chrissy Teigen, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon. These classes are cardio-based dance classes that will hit a full body intermittent strength training. However, what this studio is most known for is its trampoline. Per the official website, the workout is “a low impact cardio option that protects the joints and increases lymphatic flow joined with intervals of high energy choreographed bouncing.”

As someone who is always in search of a fun workout, I give you my promise that these workouts will have you so distracted you will not even realize that you are breaking a sweat.
