5 of the Best Cooking & Baking TikTokers for the Girl in the Kitchen

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

This past fall, I decided I wanted to start taking cooking and baking more seriously. I realized the importance of a balanced diet and was in need of a new hobby anyway. So naturally, I made my way to TikTok, the place for creativity. Over the last few months, I have come across many great accounts for every level of chef. I know that there are an overwhelming number of TikTok foodies to choose from, so here I’m listing my 5 personal favorites. Good luck with all your kitchen endeavors!

For the Modern VEGAN: @Healthygirlkitchen

Healthy Girl Kitchen (Danielle Brown) provides fairly simple but nutritious recipes that are vegan and often gluten-free. While there are few ingredients involved in most of her recipes, some are less common, making this the perfect channel for anyone looking to level up their skills. Her blog lists clearly how long a recipe will take, so college gals with busy schedules can budget time for meal prep. I love her lifestyle tips on Instagram as well.

Favorite Recipe: Her rainbow peanut noodles were so healthy and satisfying.

P.S. The Healthy Girl Kitchen cookbook comes out May 16th, 2023!

For the adventurous: @Fitgreenmind

Fit Green Mind (Maya Leinenbach) is one of my favorite accounts to follow because she features foods from all around the globe, and teaches you about their origin. She is also vegan, re-inventing these international dishes to conform to her diet (but still be amazing). This page is definitely for the more ambitious cooks, but her recipes are still straightforward, manageable, and delicious.

Favorite Recipe: I just made her vegan pancake recipe, and they were honestly the best vegan pancakes I’ve ever made! Her videos also taught me how to make the perfect crispy tofu.

For the kitchen newbie: @FEELGOODFOODIE

Feel Good Foodie (Yumna Jawad) is great for the kitchen beginner or busy college student. Her account features a good mix of simple (few ingredients!!) recipes, kitchen tips and hacks, and more ambitious creations.

Favorite Recipe: This page got me into the overnight oats trend, and wow!

For the sweet-toothed: @Bromabakery

Now for the bakers! Just peruse the Broma Bakery (Sarah Fennel) blog for one second and you’ll be in sweet heaven. It’s like your grandma’s kitchen but modernized for the new generation of treat-making girlies. She’s got every kind of recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth, even vegan and gluten-free options.

Favorite Recipe: Her brown butter chocolate chip cookies are to die for (even veganized).

For the cookie obsessed: @THEPALATABLELIFE

The Palatable Life (Mallory Jones Oniki) is one of the most entertaining food channels I’ve ever seen. Not only does she supply her viewers with decadent dessert recipes, but she also posts fun baking-related series’, from making Crumbl Cookies copycats to creating elaborate cookies based off TV shows! I’m also loving her latest series where she explains how every ingredient in a cookie affects the final product. She also has savory recipes, so I’m looking forward to trying those.

Favorite Recipe: Literally any cookie recipe on her page, they’re heavenly!
