I Tried 5 Popular Youtube Fitness Channels So You Don’t Have To

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

During Covid-19, many gyms and other fitness facilities closed. This change caused many people to get creative with ways to workout at home. YouTube has millions of free at-home workout videos which have become extremely popular during these past months. There are multiple different channels that have become more and more popular, so I decided to try 5 different channels, for one week each, to see what the hype was all about.

Chloe Ting

Chloe Ting has become extremely popular on YouTube. With over 14.7 million subscribers, her channel consists of fitness videos and weekly workout plans. Her channel also features videos showing before and after results from her workout programs. With so much positive feedback from her workouts, I had to give them a try. I completed a week of her two-week shred challenge. From my experience, I really liked how she has workout plans and how they use no equipment. However, after a while, her videos got pretty repetitive. Chloe Ting’s workouts were not my favorite, but she definitely provides well-structured plans. Go check out her channel in the link below and try her workouts for yourself; they may be your next favorite at-home workouts.

Pamela Reif

Pamela Reif is also another well-known fitness influencer and social media star with over 4.6 million subscribers on YouTube. Her channel includes free workout videos and at-home workout plans posted each week. I completed a week of one of her free workout plans which consisted of strength and cardio videos. Her workout plans also require no equipment which makes it great for everyone. Personally, I think her strength videos are the best videos out of all of her workouts. I really liked the weekly structured workout plan, but I don’t think her videos are very motivating. I definitely think you should try her videos out for yourself and see what fits you best.

Natacha Océane

Natacha Océane is an admired YouTuber with over 1.1 million subscribers. Her channel consists of fitness videos, fitness and food challenges, and experiments. She is all about spreading a positive and healthy mindset with food and fitness. Although she does not have structured workout plans on her channel, she has a variety of at-home workout videos. Some of her workouts use weights, while others are no equipment. Her HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and full-body workouts are popular, so I gave them a try. After completing a week of her workouts, I was pleasantly surprised. Her workout moves are different and creative, which adds more excitement. Her workouts are also more difficult and push you out of your comfort zone. I liked how her channel features other fitness and food-related videos, not just workouts. If you’re the kind of person who gets bored doing the same basic workout moves, then certainly go check out her workout videos.

Maddie Lymburner (MadFit)

Maddie Lymburner has a dedicated fitness YouTube channel known as MadFit. Her channel has 4.6 million subscribers and consists of all at-home workouts. While she does not have structured plans, she does have a variety of workouts for all different levels. Some videos use weights, fitness bands, or no equipment. I heard of MadFit through a friend of mine who loves her channel. For a week, I tried many different workouts which include dumbbell, cardio, and stretching videos. I liked how she explains the moves during the workout and how she focuses on the mind and muscle connection. Some videos are harder than others, but go check out her channel and see which ones you like.

She has a variety of workout plans with videos that go along with them. For a week, I tried her summer shred workout plan. She is super motivating throughout the workout and provides modifications for different levels. I like how her videos are challenging and make you push yourself. During a live workout, I noticed how close the community is who watches her workouts. Everyone is so supportive and engaged during her workout which was really cool. I think that if you want a supportive community and challenging workouts, then go check out her channel.
