Whether you are traveling, have an internship or are going home for the summer, staying on top of your fitness and health routine can be difficult. We’re here to help! By following these simple tricks you’ll never miss a workout or healthy meal and be on your way to maintaining your ideal body.

Have a Schedule

Uprooting from your once consistent schedule can often negatively affect your workout routine. So get your agendas out and start planning! Making a schedule allows you to figure out how much time you can designate to what and when you can successfully fit everything in. Even if your summer is open, it’s best to label a regular time to workout. By doing this, you will be on route to make your hour or more of exercise a habit that just becomes normal to follow and uphold.

Get a Work-Out Buddy

It’s proven—having a friend to regularly exercise with improves your workout. Not only does it create a sense of dependability, but studies have shown that your effort level significantly increases when working out with a partner in both cardiovascular and resistance training! So, go ahead, grab a friend and push yourselves to a healthier you.

Find a Gym

No longer given the luxury of gym accommodations such as the Leach and FMC, it’s best if you sign a summer membership at your local gym as soon as possible. Having a place where you can exercise and be around other people who want to focus on their health journey is a great motivator to keep you staying fit and healthy over the summer months. Plus, having a trained instructor is always a perk.

Go Running

If you’re not one for the gym or don’t feel like paying membership fees, grab your sneakers and go for a run. Waking up early while the weather is cooler is a great start to your day and makes you feel less stressed and more productive.

Meal Prep

Meal prep is one of the easiest and most effective ways to lose and maintain weight loss. Giving you the ability to eat what you want, just in a balanced diet, it trains you to avoid unneeded snacking and understand portion control.
