Ways To Raise Your Own Mental Health Today

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

Mental Health and self care pretty much go hand in hand. Here are some ways to help yourself this Mental Health Month.

Exercise

Get moving!

Eat Health

What you eat affects your mental health. Eat health. Raise your mental health!

Rant

Open up to someone. It’s important to know people are there for you. Ranting will get things off your chest and can help with your emotional well-being.

Sleep

Sleep deprivation significantly affects your mood. Go to bed at a regular time. Wake up at a regular time. This habit can help your mental health.

Write it down

Start a journal. Write down what you’re grateful for. There’s a link between well-being, happiness, and mental health.

Practice Mindfulness

Focus on one thing. This can be your breath, music, sounds around you, or even just the action you’re doing like eating, walking, or coloring. It’s ok if your mind wanders. That’s normal. Just bring it back.

I am not a therapist or counselor, and these are just generic pieces of advice. If you need help, please seek it out from a professional.
