These ‘Barbie’ Borg Names Are Simply Iconic

There’s one thing college kids have in common with Barbie: They both love to party. Barbie’s parties might come in the fashion of a glitz and glam disco rather than a frat party in a musty basement, but the essence is still there. Recently, college kids have been partying with a plastic gallon jug of mysterious beverages titled Borgs. Life in plastic is fantastic, apparently — and it makes for the perfect drink to celebrate the much-anticipated Barbie premiere

If you’re new to the Borg scene, let me catch you up. Borg stands for Blackout Rage Gallon (slightly terrifying, I know), and it is the perfect and safe drink for my 21+ folks, as everyone has their own and it’s completely customizable to your tastes. In your gallon jug, you put your favorite alcohol, water flavoring, water, then any extras you might want to add, such as Liquid IV for extra hydration. The best part of a Borg is that it’s your little companion for whatever frat or tailgate you’re going to, so you get to name it. From Red, White, and Borg for Fourth of July Borgs to Justin Bieborg for my pop culture Borg drinkers, there’s a name for every occasion, including the upcoming Barbie premiere.

On July 21, the Greta Gerwig Barbie movie is finally hitting theaters, which is an occasion worth celebrating. So, put on your hot pink, channel your inner dancing Barbie, and grab your plastic gallon jug — here are 12 Borg names good enough for Barbie in the real world.

I’m a Borgbie girl.

Cliche, but effective. When I think of Barbie, my first thought is the iconic lyric “I’m a Barbie Girl, in a Barbie world” from Aqua’s “Barbie Girl.” You might not be in Barbieland, so make your own world with the plastic gallon by your side.

The Borg to my Ken.

There’s no Ken without Barbie (not the other way around), much like how there is no college party celebrating the Barbie premiere without a Borg.

I’m Borg like the Barbie.

“Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice has been on repeat, so for this Borg party, we are channeling the baddest of Barbies with its lyrics. The OG Barb and Barbie coming together just seems right for a Barbie-themed Borg party.

Come on Borg, let’s go party.

Even “Barbie Girl” knew Barbie would be perfect for a Borg party. It’s almost like Borgs were made for a modern-day college Barbie. It’s simple, but will be a hit.

B is for Borgs and Barbie.

I will not be taking any further questions or concerns. The letter “B” is strictly reserved for Barbie and her drinking companion.

It’s a Borgbie world.

Borg world, Barbie world, it’s really all the same. Both come with customizable features, Kens and Barbies to party with, and both love any reason to celebrate.

Borg Barbie.

There’s Mermaid Barbie, Weird Barbie, and now there’s a college-coded Barbie that likes to live it up on the weekends. Enter: Borg Barbie.

“Do you guys ever think about Borging?”

OK, this one might be niche, but you will stand out. In the Barbie trailer, Barbie seems to have an existential crisis as she goes through real-world changes — she really is just like us questioning all of our life choices while going out. Barbie’s shocking question in the trailer is, “Do you guys ever think about dying?” but the real question to be asking is, “Do you guys ever think about Borging?”

Borgbiecore.

Move aside, Barbiecore, there’s a new aesthetic in town. This one has a little bit of an edge and unhinged behavior that Barbiecore can’t seem to emulate.

Barbie Borghouse.

The Barbie Dreamhouse might be out of a college kid’s budget, but the Barbie Borghouse sure isn’t.

Life in plastic, it’s Borgtastic.

It really is. Barbie would agree that life in plastic is fantastic, even if it comes in the shape of a gallon jug filled with a weird assortment of beverages.

Barbie goes to Borgland.

Barbie might go to the real world or back to Barbieland, but this Barbie is going to Borgland. Let’s just say it’s a little bit more… authentic? There’s nothing more real and humbling than walking around with a plastic jug on a random Friday in late July.
