I Went to 5 Different Workout Classes for Free

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

2020 has been a year of new goals and fresh starts. Starting with my new ambitions for trying workout classes to find one that I love. I’ve been all over the city in a matter of weeks, trying all the latest trends in fitness, all for FREE! Here’s a list of the places you can also try a class for no charge in Boston.

Corepower Yoga

I fell in love with Corepower after trying their FREE first week of classes! Seriously! All you have to do is sign up on their website and find a studio near you. The first week is a trial run before you commit to a class package. My advice would be to bring your own mat and towel and show up at least 15 minutes early to get a good spot in the rooms!

Barry’s Bootcamp

I was able to connect with a Barry’s ambassador who hooked me up with a free first class! Barry’s is by far my favorite total body workout. I felt challenged, but in a safe environment where I was being encouraged at the same time. You really can’t beat it! The workouts are a mix of strength exercises on the floor and a treadmill. I can honestly say I have never felt sorer.

Barre3

Barre3 was where I had the chance to try my first barre class! I have to say my favorite part of these studios are the instructors. They are so nice and really want to make sure you are getting what you want out of the classes. Go to their website to sign up for your free first class! It’s super chill, and you need nothing but yourself for the class!

Orange Theory Fitness

I was constantly seeing ads for Orange Theory Fitness so I figured I would give it a try. I have to say I respect what they’re doing, but it wasn’t my favorite class. You can sign up for a free first class online, but be warned—you MUST get their 30 mins early. Any later and they will not take you. I was turned away my first time and came back just to find it wasn’t for me.

BKBX

I love BKBX! I had the chance to try a free class with a club here at BU and after that, I connected with an ambassador who got me into another free community class! You can go to their website to sign up for a free class to try it as well! Their studio is set up like an adventure lover’s dream. I loved the workout, but I have to say the recovery room was my favorite part. According to their website, the amenities include “Infrared Sauna, Compression Sleeves, Massage + Muscle Therapy Devices, Treatment Tables and Chairs, Vibrating Massage Rollers, Stretching Area + More.”

It’s the second month of the year, so it’s time to hammer down on the goals you want to achieve in 2020. No matter what your plans are, use these classes as an opportunity to stay active, energized, and healthy.
