Start 2024 Off Right With These Affirmations

I’m not someone who is completely dedicated to New Year’s resolutions; I don’t really stress about them because I’m too busy to even follow through with them in the first place. New Year’s has always felt like just another day to me — up until this year.

Some of us, like myself, are absolutely terrified of 2024. I’ll be graduating in May and saying goodbye to college life forever, and I don’t have any job offers. I’ve already been dealing with the anxiety of not having a job while some of my friends already have opportunities lined up, and to make matters worse, a 2024 zodiac sign prediction TikTok told me that all Sagittarians are going to be sad in 2024. I have no idea why we’re all going to be sad, but it didn’t help ease my anxiety.

I’ve used positive affirmations in the past to help ease some of my anxiety, and I’m definitely calling in all positive energy for this stressful new year. Starting on Jan. 1, 2024, I’m going to utilize these 20 affirmations — whether they’re in my notebook or scattered across my room on sticky notes — to help me get through my grad-year anxiety. If you’re in a similar position as me, it’s time to bring these affirmations into your life.

I’m letting go of 2023.

For those of us who didn’t have the best year, it’s time to let go.

I’m grateful for the lessons 2023 gave me.

I saw multiple rejections for internships and jobs in 2023 and also had many achievements, I’m thankful for all of it.

I am thankful for the fresh start.

It’s time to turn the page to the next chapter of our lives!

I am proud of myself.

Sometimes a little reminder that your best is good enough is all you need.

Rejection is just a redirection

Did I steal this from the Internship Girl? Maybe, but Avalon is right, rejection hurts but it’s for the best.

I’m prepared for any obstacles I might face.

I know that getting what I want won’t be easy, but the obstacles will make it worth it.

I will create healthy boundaries for myself this year.

Here’s to a healthy work-life balance! A girl can dream.

I can achieve anything I put my mind to.

Manifesting your goals is the first step; if you can see it then you can be it.

I’m stepping into my most successful year.

This one is personal because life won’t end after graduation.

I have the skills I need to succeed.

This year is the perfect time to start building up our confidence.

I acknowledge my own self-worth.

You are amazing in your own way.

I am choosing positivity over doubt and courage over fear this year.

We’re not letting anxiety get the best of us in 2024.

I choose to be happy every day of this new year.

Once again, anxiety will not be winning!

I only put my energy into things that truly matter to me.

If you don’t like the way someone treats you, we’re no longer giving them the time of day.

I won’t be held back by things that don’t matter.

Remember that one bad exam grade? It sucks right now, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter.

I’m capable of doing amazing things.

You have what it takes to make changes in the world, even if you don’t realize it!

I am excited about what the future holds for me

There’s no need to stress about the future, it doesn’t serve you.

I will be more patient with myself in 2024.

We’re all going to try our best not to freak out when things don’t go our way all the time.

I will live in the present in 2024.

For example, I won’t let something at work distract me from my time with my family and friends.

This year I will focus on self-love.

This year, let’s all try to be a little kinder to ourselves. We deserve it.
