It’s that time of year where dual holiday celebrators, like myself, start to trim the tree and light the lights.
What is it about religion that makes people turn against each other? Why is it viewed differently by everyone? Why does it make you do things that no one could have convinced you to do otherwise? What makes it so powerful and convincing?
Christmas is about love and giving, which should be done all year round, but there is something magical about seeing so many people coming together to give before the new year comes.

In April of 2019, the interim report of the Independent Review into the global persecution of Christians was released indicating that the persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near “genocide” levels. The report, which was ordered by the former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and led by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, estimated that one in three people suffer from religious persecution and that Christians were the most persecuted religious group in the world.
