As someone who loves fashion, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was something I was looking forward to this year, especially because of Tate McRae and Megan Thee Stallion’s performances. In general, I really liked the show and the pieces it had to offer, so throughout this article, I’m going to reflect on the trends and looks that I liked the most from the show.
Flowers
I loved the usage of flowers throughout the show, and some of my favorite looks with flowers were Bella Hadid, Anok Yai, Grace Elizabeth, and Ashley Graham! The colors used with the flowers were so pretty and vibrant, and I liked the way they used flowers for many wings, but managed to make them all very unique and gorgeous.
The Colors
I thought it was really cool that the show transitioned from pastels and lighter colors to neon, then to darker beiges, browns, and blacks mixed with gold. From there, it went to white and silver. My favorite colors were the lighter ones from the beginning because they reminded me of my childhood. When I was little, I loved pastel pink, lime green, and baby blue together and it was so fun to see these color combinations come back in 2026. It makes me want to go to the store and get outfits that combine those colors!
I also really liked the neon colors because I think it’s beginning to have a moment, especially with Zara Larsson’s concert outfits. The black, brown, and beige colors were a gorgeous contrast to the brighter colors from earlier in the show, especially when they were mixed with metallics like silver and gold, along with diamonds. A breathtaking moment with metallics was Ming Xi’s giant wings.
Later on, the show became winter-like with looks including silver, white, and diamonds. I know Kylie Jenner’s presence sparked controversy, but I thought that she looked absolutely stunning and that the skirt suited the fantasy bra so well. In my opinion, if there was something more extravagant on the bottom, it would have taken away from the fantasy bra, which was supposed to be the focal point of the outfit.
Sequins, Jewels, and Feathers
Some other trends I noticed in the show that I really liked were the sequins, jewels, and feathers. I loved the feathery wings so much because they provided such an interesting difference in texture. I thought the feathered wings were especially pretty in gold or silver.
The sequins and jewels were really fun in the neon section because they made the looks more colorful and playful. I loved the way light bounced off of the sequin wings, especially Gigi Hadid’s, and how many of the women were wearing colorful body jewelry. I liked how the women paired these with big, thick, and colorful hooped earrings and bangles.
Layering and Velour from the Early 2000s
I absolutely loved PINK’s segment of the show because of the adorable layering and velour sets. It reminded me so much of my childhood in the best way. There were several looks that involved layering a bra over a top or layering pairs of underwear on top of each other that worked perfectly visually. It’s inspired me to work layering into my own outfits each day. I also loved the velour sets, especially the all-pink one worn by Sydney Waits, because of her scrunchie, hoop earrings, and jacket.
Some other parts of the PINK show I liked were the sets with PINK written on the side of the leg in sequins, fur jackets, off-the-shoulder tops, and jerseys because they were sporty, but also casual enough to wear out to the mall or out with friends. I thought the hairstyles in this part of the show were so adorable as well, with the half-up half-down hairstyles with scrunchies and thick headbands.
All parts of this segment of the show reminded me of the way I dressed when I was younger and there were so many things I loved wearing that I forgot about. I thought my style changed over the years, but perhaps it hasn’t!
My Ultimate Takeaways
This show made me very nostalgic for the early 2000s and my childhood. I grew up with a very fashionable mother who dressed me in the most fun outfits, and seeing this fashion show took me back to those times and what I learned from her growing up. Personal style has always been important to me because of my mom and it’s been a creative outlet for me my entire life.
Unfortunately, I think that once I joined social media in high school, my style changed into a more clean-girl, simple aesthetic. But after seeing all of these sporty, colorful, and sequined outfits, I’ve been taken back to my roots and I am completely inspired. I am very excited to wear all of these colors and styles again now that I’ve realized how much I’ve missed them.
