How TikTok Has Changed My Outlook on Health

Social media has become a platform where anyone is able to speak and teach others. That being said, an interest in health and wellness has spiked due to the COVID-19 pandemic. People began to take their physical and mental health much more seriously over the past year and a half. 

 

TikTok has become the most popular platform in the past two years with over 2.3 billion downloads. This means it has also been the most downloaded app in history. For those who don’t already know, TikTok is a video streaming platform where people are able to share dance, singing, and other videos in different trending categories. Everyone who downloads TikTok has a different “For You Page” or “FYP,” which is a feed of videos catered to your individual interests.

 

One category that grew on my FYP was health and wellness. As quarantine was in place, people including myself began to focus on their health and found tips that might help them reach their goals. 

 

TikTok is a platform that is filled with endless ideas and tips that are able to genuinely help people in their life. I found that the health and wellness category of TikTok has grown immensely in the last few months. 

 

I want to share some of my favorite health and wellness TikTokers that have genuinely helped me in learning more about fitness, clean eating, and mental health. 

Olivia Benlevy

Olivia is a freshman at Vanderbilt University who uses her platform to document her health and fitness journey. She uses both TikTok and Instagram to show her daily meals and workouts. One reason that I enjoy watching her TikToks is because of her consistency of showing her daily meals. She is documenting her daily meals to help motivate others and give inspiration to those who want to lose weight. 

Katelynn Nolan

Katelynn Nolan is a health and fitness Youtuber, blogger and TikToker. She shares a positive mindset on all things health and wellness related. She shares her recipes on her Instagram @Foodieegirll. These recipes are simple and easy while also having clean eating mindsets. Through her TikTok platform she is able to share her daily life and how she spends her time being productive and healthy. 

Allana Blumberg

Allana Blumberg is a lifestyle, wellness, and fitness influencer. She also has a platform on Instagram and Youtube where she is consistently posting content to motivate others. Her TikToks are consistent with her productive morning routines that show her daily tasks after waking up early and working out. She also releases journal prompts on her Instagram for people to take away from and use as their own. She also started her own podcast called @morningraepodcast where she interviews other influencers about topics of lifestyle and health. 

These TikTokers have each created a platform for themselves to spread positivity and motivate others to live a healthy lifestyle. This is important for people to do when they are trying to make a change in their life. They need to see others to motivate themselves. It is also a great way to get inspired by the people on these platforms overall.
