With only a couple weeks left in the school year, I’ve already been planning out all my summer plans. I wanted to share a couple of the ways I plan to refresh and reset at the beginning of break so that I can look and feel my best. Feel free to try these too!

1. Pamper Myself

Obviously, I (and you) deserve to do a whole makeover to celebrate finishing the year! Literally the very first weekend I get back home, I plan to get my hair cut short (Nashville heat does not mix well with long hair), get a mani-pedi (with dip so they last longer, of course), and maybe even get a massage! I never get massages, but this year has been kinda hectic and I think my body is still holding in all the stress.

Whatever you need to do to feel great about yourself on the outside (we will be getting to inside too, don’t worry), you should do.

2. Journal More

I always say I need to journal more and write down my thoughts, but I never actually do it. I always just end up writing down my thoughts in my notes app. But I really do think there’s great value in taking the time to sit down and handwrite your thoughts.

I also want to get better about expressing my gratitude, so I want to journal about what I’m grateful for each day! (But let’s be real, I’ll probably forget a lot, so it might be every other week.)

The first step is having a cute journal, though. You won’t want to whip out an old dusty notebook in the middle of a coffee shop or at the park – you need a cute little book that makes you happy. And yes, you actually need it. It’s an excuse for some online shopping!

3. Exercise

I am definitely not a gym rat. But I do feel so much better about myself and more productive when I do some Zumba at the gym or even just go for a walk in my neighborhood. This summer, I’m pushing myself to exercise more than I usually do, even if that might just mean that I need to swim more often at the pool (and by might I mean for sure!).

Even if you’re starting a summer job or internship right away, take at least one day at the beginning of your break to reset for the months ahead.

It’s worth it!
