Before I get into this week’s blog I want to branch off of last week’s article. I have made yoga a regular thing and I LOVE it. Now I’m not a morning person whatsoever but I woke up at 7:00am yesterday and went to morning yoga, and it was the perfect start to my day. I went back home and napped after and I was so relaxed. I highly suggest morning yoga.

In this week’s blog I wanted to target the gym as a whole. Do not look at going to the gym as a chore, or something you have to do. You should have the motivation to go. If you go to the gym unmotivated with no goals, you probably wont get much done. I see two different kinds of people at the gym. The people who clearly want to be there, are working their butts off, and are covered in sweat. And then there’s the people who sit on a machine for a few minutes, use the machine for one or two reps, and then just text or socialize. Do NOT be that person. Not only are you taking machines from people who want to use them; you’re not benefiting yourself.

I understand going to the gym can feel awkward sometimes, especially as a girl. I know when I’m the only girl in the weight room things do feel a little awkward, but you have to remember you’re there to improve your body and your health, not be the center of attention. People will only stare at you if you give them a reason to. Throw on your iPod, and concentrate on your workout. It should not matter to you what the other people in the gym are doing.

Meal of the Week: Red Mango Fruit Smoothies

Okay I know this isn’t a meal, but these are amazing. Not only are they healthy, but they are actually really filling. Their smoothies consist of fresh fruit, yogurt, and fruit juices. One thing I love about Red Mango is that you can add protein or metabolic boosters to your smoothies. On their website they say, “Our amazingly delicious fruit smoothies are made to keep you living your best life! We offer over 25 varieties including all-fruit and pre-boosted options! They’re always fortified with our patented Super Biotics that support immune and digestive health.” If you’re looking for a quick snack these are perfect. Plus, we’re lucky enough to have one right on campus and yes they do make these smoothies!
