5 Ways to Stay Safe (and Healthy) This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

The holidays are approaching, which usually means eggnog, carols, and usually gatherings. This year may look a bit different for most of us, but there are still ways we can be safe during the holiday season. Here are some tips on how to stay safe during the season!

WEAR A MASK!!!

Maybe the most obvious tip on this list, but it is most certainly one of the most important. Wearing a mask not only protects you but also those around you from getting sick.

Social Distance

The second most obvious tip on this list! Social distance when you can. It’s so important in keeping your health as well as others’ safe.

Do Not Hug Family Members/Friends

This one goes hand in hand with social distancing and people may get angry over this, but family members can still carry the virus. Keep your distance. Even from them.

Zoom Dinners

This is a creative way to stay with family and friends over the holiday season. Have a Zoom dinner! You can play games on zoom, chat and do many other activities over zoom and stay safe. Yes, it stinks, but this whole year stinks.

Stay Home As Much As You Can

This may be sad but probably the safest way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Staying home leaves a very little risk of getting the virus. It will be difficult and sad, but the safest option. The Zoom dinners mentioned above may help make the season brighter, as well as binging holiday rom coms and decorating your house!

The holidays will definitely look different this year, but if we follow guidelines and stay safe, we will have so many more holidays to look forward to! Have a wonderful (and safe) holiday season!
