The Five-Minute Journal is one of my favorite Christmas presents from last year. This personalizable journal comes with daily pages set up with prompts to make journaling a quick and easy part of your day. Each day’s page asks the same things of you: to name things you are grateful for, to write daily affirmations, and to reflect on how your day could be great/what made it great. The top of each page also includes a new quote or weekly challenge for inspiration to look forward to each time you open a new page.

I always found journaling to be a little overwhelming before finding this specific journal. I never knew where to start or what to write about. That’s one of the reasons I think everyone who feels this way should try The Five-Minute Journal. It is designed specifically for beginners — making it accessible to everyone. It takes five minutes of your time. Between a quick reflection in the morning and a quick reflection at night, it is easy to journal your thoughts and have a moment of gratitude.

Making time every day to write down what we have to be grateful for has infinite benefits. For one, it opens your eyes to all there is to express gratitude towards. Whether it be something big like family and friends or something as small as the weather that day, writing down my blessings every day has given me a more positive outlook on life. Every day, I seek something to express gratitude for. I have found the more I tune into the things in my life that I have to be grateful for, the more options I have to list in my journal.

The aspect of taking a quick minute to debrief after my day and find things that made it good also has made me more in tune with my everyday life. I find that when you look for the goodness in each day it makes every day hold more value. Even after a bad day, writing down things that made my day meaningful helps me see the day in a more positive light. I’m also reminded that there’s always space to write about what was good about the next day, and the day after that, so there is always a chance to try again for a good day.

Whether you are looking to get into journaling or not, I cannot recommend The Five-Minute Journal enough. It has the perfect layout, prompts, and reflection space. Who thought something as simple as writing a few sentences could change your day-to-day life so easily?

With 2022 approaching slowly, journaling may be a great tactic to ease into the new year. So try it out, because you never know The amazing effect it can have on you.
