Brookline Barre & Soul

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

As someone who had relied on my local Pure Barre over the summer for my weekly dose of core strengthening and thigh toning, I was excited to see that a new barre studio had just opened up just a short walk from BU’s West Campus.  Barre & Soul, a boutique-y and chic barre and yoga studio, has just opened their BU/Brookline location.  With other locations in Harvard Square, Melrose, Portsmouth, Lexington, and a new studio opening this winter in Providence, Barre & Soul is a quickly growing company, and it’s easy to see why!

At their Brookline location, a small but cozy studio dressed up with a trendy, minimalist design, you can take either an hour-long Barre & Soul Method class or a 50-minute Express class is you’re looking for a shorter, more compact workout.  The classes combine barre with elements of yoga such as meditation at the start and end of each session.  Using small movements, limited equipment, and your own body weight, you’ll get an intense all over workout that is sure to challenge your muscles with limited cardio.  Each exercise is followed by a stretch, in order to ensure you’re protecting your body.

Barre & Soul Brookline also offers great deals and discounts, starting with their intro special at only $69 for unlimited month of classes.  Students can also receive a discounted membership at only $99 dollars a month for unlimited access to classes.  This is a great option, especially for BU students looking to switch up their workout, or maybe even a new environment to get their sweat on!  Barre & Soul even has an easy-to-use app where you can sign up for classes and browse each location’s schedules.

Whether you’ve done barre before, or you’ve never set foot in a studio, Barre & Soul will welcome you to any of their classes! So grab some yoga pants, a tank, and a bottle of water, and head over to Brookline’s newest barre studio for a new way to workout!
