I have discovered that one of the hardest things about college is learning how to keep a healthy lifestyle. Having a different schedule everyday due to classes and work makes it hard to find time to exercise and eat the right foods. When fast food is so readily accessible and cheap it makes it easy to justify eating it. I have discovered a few things on my own, and recommended by friends, that has helped me manage my time and become more knowledgeable about how to provide my body the nutrients it needs.

For the readers:

Cameron Diaz’s The Body Book has been life changing. Not only does she give you a reality check on how terrible processed foods are for your body, she also enlightens her readers on the benefits of eating whole grains and natural foods. She also gives advice on the physical and mental aspect of being healthy and staying that way. A must read for anyone who wants to gain knowledge about health without having to take a class!

For the doers:

Kayla Itsines is a fitness guru from Australia that is building an empire of strong and empowered women (and men). While her Bikini Body Guide is focused on women, she gladly takes men looking to better their bodies under her wing. She travels and holds boot camps and inspires women all over the world to get active. She has a fitness guide that will kick your butt into shape as well as a nutrition guide. Check out her Instagram and website so she can be that fitness angel on your shoulder.

For the drinkers:

If you like tea, I highly recommend trying SkinnyMe Tea‘s detox program. They have just recently rebranded and created better products for their buyers. It tastes good and shows immediate results, plus it isn’t one of those terrible detoxes that hurts you or makes you feel sick. You also don’t have to cut back on what you are eating; you see results even if you keep up your normal routine. Pair it with eating healthy and exercising and you will be more than ready to hit the beach.
