Every college student strives to do well in the classroom, even if it means cramming the night before to remember as much information as possible. In order to make that experience a little easier, here are five foods that will fuel your brain, help with memory, and improve concentration!

1. Avocados: Good thing avocado toast has become one of the trendiest meals, because avocados help with blood flow to the brain. They also help lower blood pressure, improving your overall brain function.

2. Berries: Berries are one of the healthiest foods you can eat! Not only do they taste delicious, but they are also are filled with antioxidants that help with communication within the brain. This can actually result in better memory, which we all know will help on any college exam.

3. Beets: Have beets become your favorite salad topping recently? Beets have been proven to help improve your memory. They are filled with nitrates, which aid blood flow and will help with mental performance.

4. Coffee: What a relief… you have an excuse to go to Starbucks! Coffee helps with brain activity and has proven to help with memory. As it is every college student’s best friend, this one shouldn’t be too tough to include in your everyday life.

5. Water: To balance out all the coffee, staying hydrated is key for optimal health! Water will help with concentration, and will re-energize you even more than coffee will. Add some lemon in your water for extra flavor, and you’ll be good to go.

Find these foods in the dining halls, or add them to your grocery lists to enjoy the benefit of foods that will improve brain function, leaving you feeling happier and healthier.
