Why I Swapped My Single-Workout Routine for ClassPass

When I studied abroad in London last year, I was forced to take a break from my favorite workout, CorePower Yoga Sculpt, which led me to try other ways to move my body. In London, gym memberships often gave me access to more than one type of workout. You purchase a membership at a fitness studio, and within that membership, you can take hot yoga, Pilates, cycling classes, a Barry’s-style running class, and focused weight training. For five months, I discovered just how much variety a weekly workout routine could offer.

Now, listen, I’ve had my CorePower membership for over three years. I’ve absolutely loved it, and Yoga Sculpt has truly changed both my life and my perspective on what it means to be strong. Yet when I returned home, grateful to be back with my favorite teachers, I realized I missed letting my body experience different workouts and targeting different muscles throughout the week. So, I decided to sign up for ClassPass.

I’ve now found multiple studios that are part of my weekly rotation. I absolutely love KV Lagree in Encino, Training Mate in Santa Monica (soon to be in Brentwood!), and Pilates Cave Mat Method, also in Santa Monica. These three workouts target different parts of my body, providing a more holistic approach to my weekly routine. The best part is that I’ve noticed a significant change in my strength. I felt like I was always getting a full-body workout with CorePower, but I also felt like I was working certain muscles more than others. With ClassPass, I can give different muscle groups more focused attention, and I can confirm that my core feels ten times stronger.

Before ClassPass, I was locked into a single workout routine and sometimes had to force myself to get up and exert energy that would leave me tired for the rest of the day. With my new, London-inspired approach to movement, I can choose workouts based on how challenging I want them to be that day.

Workouts are expensive. A membership in and of itself is a massive commitment financially. With ClassPass, I’m able to pick and choose the plan I want, and the cost feels worthwhile. If you’re feeling stuck in your current routine, consider trying different studios or exploring ClassPass. You might find a new favorite way to move!
