Birthday: April, 28 1991

Graduation Year: 2013

Likes:
I’m on the golf team here so I’m really big into that. I love Greek life here – being a part of Beta is a lot of fun.  I also love being a part of the social scene here – northwestern is a lot of fun despite some people’s preconceived notions of this place. I’ve enjoyed every second I’ve been here.

Dislikes:
Cold weather – which is a little ironic – and traffic.

Pet Peeves:
People who aren’t true to their word. Other than that I’m a pretty easy going guy,

What are you involved with on campus?
The golf team takes up the majority of my time – that’s definitely my biggest involvement. Other than that I’m really involved with my Greek house. I’m really big into the whole recruitment scene and I’m hoping to run for Recruitment Chair. I try to make the most of my time here. I definitely want to come away from Northwestern with a full college experience and I think I do a pretty good job of making that happen.

What are your future career goals?
I want to play on the PGA tour. Let’s be honest – it’d be pretty cool to play golf for a living. But you know if that doesn’t work out, having a Northwestern degree seems to go a long way.

Describe your personality.
I’m an outgoing guy. I like to be social and I’m always talking to people – really I’m just out to have a good time.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Well you gotta start with dinner. Downtown Evanston has a fine assortment of restaurants to choose from. Then afterwards, I would shake it up a little by taking advantage of our great theatre department and take my date to a play. Going to a play is a little more unique than your standard ‘dinner and a movie.’

What do you find most attractive in a woman?
Someone that’s fun and spontaneous with a good sense of humor. I’m also really attracted to intelligent girls. Fortunately I go to Northwestern so,  everyone pretty much satisfies that requirement.

Why HC loves Nick:
This campus cutie is a real catch, from his athletic good looks to his personal motto: treating others how you want to be treated, Nick is one of the most straightforward guys in Evanston. Look out ladies.

Why did you choose USF?

Three fun facts: I have a twin sister, I’m colorblind, and I love to cook.

A famous photographer because you get to travel a lot, which is great. Also, you get to see the world from a different point of view, through your art and the people you meet.

Cartier Bresson, a French photographer, because I really love his work and he made a revolution in photography. He took photos the way he lived, as if everything was a “decisive moment”.

Does this Campus Cutie look familiar? That’s because you have probably seen him dribbling a ball down the soccer field or scoring the wining goal for numerous Brandeis games. But even though this midfielder is a soccer stud, he still loves it when his mom, dad, and family come to his games and he will readily admit his love for Taylor Swift. For these reasons and more, Sam Ocel is this week’s Campus Cutie.

This is tough. No, it’s just funny.

Do you have any hidden talents?
Just say I am a singer. I have a beautiful voice. (He smiles.)

But she’s a blonde!
(Laughs) It’s true. There’s an exception to every rule.

I’m not too picky. As long as there’s a connection and it doesn’t end awkwardly. I think I’d go for a nice restaurant but not too fancy, I don’t want to scare her off.

What’s your biggest turn off?
Girls who are mean spirited and complain a lot are definitely a turn off. And cigarettes. I don’t like girls who smoke.

Tell us your first kiss story.
It was a dare. I was around ten years old with a girl from church.

Thankfully, not any — I wish I could play more musical instruments. I play the piano since first grade but I want to learn the drums and guitar.

I play the saxophone. I picked it up in 3rd grade.

I guess I would label myself as a dreamer. It helps me have a more positive outlook on things and to stay optimistic.

My pops because he was the youngest of five and became the most successful of them all. He didn’t go to college and he’s still a boss.

What is your favorite part about the university of Oregon?
Not the weather (laughs). But I do like the campus a lot, and I love the football team.

I’m definitely a night person. Waking up is really hard, unless I’m doing it for a special girl.

I don’t think I have a favorite. I more enjoy trying out a new restaurant on any given night.

You’ve been granted three wishes. One has to be completely selfish (it benefits only you); one has to be completely altruistic (no tangible benefit to you); and one has to concern the University of Chicago. What are they?
1. I would wish that I would always know what to do and make the right decisions.
2. I would wish that my family always remains happy and healthy.

Meet David Lee: talk, dark and handsome, and UP’s campus cutie of the week.

Name: David Lee
Year: Senior 2013
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hometown: Pearl City, Hawaii

What is your favorite Disney movie?
Aw, there’s honestly too many to name. Like I could go with one of the classic ones like “Aladdin” or “Lion King,” or one of the newer ones like “Tangled” or “Wally.” I grew up as a Disney fanatic, so they’re just something I enjoy.

Which Disney princess would you “live happily ever after” with?
I’d be Jasmine’s Aladdin. Or maybe I’d be Mulan’s Shang. If I’m Aladdin I get a flying carpet, but if I’m Shang I get to enjoy the beauty of China. I like scenic places.

In ten years, where do you see yourself?
I see myself as an officer in the Air Force, hopefully with a family and kids, living somewhere that’s not too cold. I like the cold weather, but not the rainy Portland kind of cold.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Super strength, so I could protect all the people that I love and care about.

Describe your type of girl.
I’m into the smart and independent type who knows how to have fun but knows how to get things done, too. She’s the kind of girl that stays in shape and loves being active, and she gets along well with my family and friends. Oh, and she’s the type to put up with me being stupid, too.

What about women’s fashion do you not understand?
Wearing a dress in cold weather or wearing high heels over shoes that are comfortable. Oh, and wearing shorts with Uggs, too. It baffles me.

Do you GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry)?
Gym? Yes. Tan? No, how can I do that in Portland? And laundry? Yeah, who doesn’t? If I didn’t do laundry, I wouldn’t have clothes to work out in or look good in.

Any special lady in your life?
The only special lady I have in my life as of right now is my mom.
