Lose the Freshman 15: A Playlist For Getting Your Groove Back

Hello and happy — Tuesday? Whoops. But I have an excuse for missing my regular Monday blog. I flew home for the weekend (NYC to Portland, OR, baby!) to surprise my mom for mother’s day and her birthday, and in order to make it back to work in time on Monday, I had to take the Sunday night red-eye. It landed at 5:30 am. There were babies on board. Which meant zero sleep for me. So, yesterday, my brain was not functioning enough to blog for you. Believe me, you wouldn’t have wanted to see that.

Unfortunately (for this blog) and fortunately (for me), I had a very decadent weekend home. What can I say? My dad’s a chef, there were holidays and birthdays to celebrate, and I was prepared to give myself a weekend off from all things diet and exercise. For example, I was more than happy to help squeeze limes for some martinis with my mom.

Woof. I can definitely feel it, but luckily, I know that it won’t hurt me in the long run so long as I hop right back on the train—which I will be. The gym is calling my name for an after-work date.

For now, though, I leave you with another workout playlist (check out my first one here!). This one’s a little slower – perfect for getting back in the swing of cardio if you fell off the wagon for a few days.

1. Limbo by Daddy Yankee
3. We Turn It Up by Oh Land
4. Turn Me On by David Guetta
5. Young (Radio Edit) by Tulisa
6. Let’s Go by Calvin Harris feat. Neyo
7. Domino by Jessie J

I’m always looking for new music, too, so share your favorite songs in the comments!
