Hello collegiettes! It is so unbelievable to think there is only 1 month left to the “Lose the Freshman 15” program. I swear, it feels like only a day ago when I was faced with the daunting task of ‘Oh my gosh, how am I going to lose more weight in 2 months than I’ve been trying to for YEARS?!’ thankfully with the support of the HC Staff, New Balance, Zico, DietBet, and SELF Magazine, losing weight has been much easier than I originally thought. However, now that I’m home (surrounded by my mom’s food), sticking to the Drop10 Diet has been quite challenging. Here are some things that are going to keep my motivated during my last month, because now is certainly not the time to start slacking off!
Eat 3 meals a day: Make sure to have a healthy/filling breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The reason I’m mentioning this no-brainer is because my diet weakness has always been snacks – typically of the highly caloric but little nutritious value variety. Committing to cutting out snacks for the remainder of the program will be my biggest challenge, but most likely the most beneficial.
Think of your home friends: Maybe it’s just me, but my best friends from high school come home in a few weeks. Obviously, I know weight doesn’t matter in a friendship, but I can just predict how many selfies will be taken upon our reunion, and there’s no harm in wanting to look your best.
Buy a bikini: Remember, it’s all about how healthy you are on the inside, not the outside that counts. That being said, has anyone else’s inbox been bombarded with emails about the swimsuit sales going on right now? There’s so many! definitely buying a cute one to get me excited about rocking it with confidence at the beach this summer.
Think of your school friends: Even though school just ended, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing all my new college friends in the Fall. With ‘Welcome Week,’ football games, and sunbathing on the Quad, who doesn’t want to be in their best shape? Might as well take advantage of our fast metabolisms now while we’re young instead of a few years down the road.
Hopefully I can make this month just as productive in terms of reaching my weight goal as I did last month. I’m sad the program will be ending soon, but the health lessons I’ve learned so far will definitely be sticking with me for a long time. Don’t forget to keep following the Drop10 Diet, register for the next round on Dietbet, and follow me on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. Until next time, bye guys!
With love,
Nicole E
