Embrace Aquarius Season With These Creative AF Sex Positions

It’s almost time for everyone’s (my) favorite zodiac sign to shine — a round of applause for Aquarius season. And no, it’s not just my favorite because of Harry Styles’ birthday, though when I found out he was an Aquarius, it certainly solidified the air sign being at the top of my favorites. What’s not to love about Aquarius season? They’re arguably the most creative, unique, kinky, and elusive sign out there. And all of that energy is coming in hot this Aquarius season, specifically in everyone’s sex life.

The fixed sign celebrates its season from Jan. 20 to Feb. 18. Throughout this time, you can expect intense feelings of wanting change and desiring collaboration, meaning your social calendar will be packed — both with friendship activities, and a few bookmarked nights for hookups… obviously. So, what better way to welcome in this astrological transit than with some Aquarius season-inspired sex positions?

With all that being said, it’s time to channel all that energy into the bedroom this month, y’all. I’m talking about being open-minded, creative, and ready for a good time. So, lucky for you, I have rounded up five sex positions that I feel perfectly embody Aquarius energy. Listen to the cosmos, bestie! I have a feeling you won’t regret it.

Reverse Ghost Rider

You’re probably familiar with Reverse Ghost Rider, which is pretty much like Cowgirl with a little bit of a twist. The first step is to grab a chair and have your partner sit down. Then, you will turn around to no longer face your partner and position yourself on top of them. You will get on your partner and straddle them facing the opposite way (i.e., ghost), which I think channels Aquarius season so well. If you’ve been ghosted by an Aquarius, you’ll resonate with this position. TBH, we’ve all been there.

Standing, from behind

This one is great for a quickie and is super accessible if you’re wearing a dress or skirt. The person being penetrated will bend over as if they’re touching their toes, and their partner will come behind, grab their hips, and begin thrusting. If you’re in a rush, this is the position for you: ultimate thrusting power and an A+ for deep penetration.

Wheel(barrow) of fortune

I’m channeling the open-mindedness of Aquarius season here, y’all, stay with me. The Wheelbarrow is a great position if you’re aiming for deep penetration (and a workout). The person being penetrated will get in a plank position and allow their partner to come behind and slowly lift their legs to waist level. Then, your partner will begin penetrating while holding up your legs. This position is tiring, so be prepared, but it’s an easy way to spice up the bedroom.

Over-the-counter

This is a personal favorite of mine: To start, you’ll want to find any available counter space where you can lay and be hip-level with your partner. Then, the person penetrating can penetrate at a slight angle while you lay back on the counter. This one’s perfect when you’re coming in the door after a night out and just can’t possibly make it to the bedroom. It’s also, like, very spur of the moment, which makes the best sex, IMHO.

Tied up missionary

This is a spicy twist to a fan favorite. (Yeah, I love missionary, sue me!) You’ll want to lie down with your hands above your head and allow your partner to tie your wrists. If you’re in a bed, maybe they can tie them to the bedframe or simply tie your wrists together. It’s up to you. Then, your partner will penetrate you from above while you’re just a little tied up. Adding some creativity to a more vanilla position gives very much Aquarius energy.
