Spooky season has officially commenced, and I couldn’t be happier. If I’m being honest, planning out my Halloween costumes has to be one of my favorite tasks of the season. Pumpkin spice lattes are cool and all, but who doesn’t love being able to dress up like anything they want for a few nights out of the year? Lindsay Lohan’s Cady Heron said it best in Mean Girls: “Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total sl*t, and no other girls can say anything about it,” so I’ll be doing just that.
My besties and I always seem to plan the most unquestionably unique and badass costumes of them all. I’ve been there and done that when it comes to the basic duo co-ords, yes, I’ll admit — we have dressed up as an angel and devil a few times. But we’re living in 2022 now, and it’s time to elevate my best friend Halloween costume game, one dynamic duo pairing at times. These two Disney legends may not have seen eye to eye in their original Sleeping Beauty film, but they’re a match made in heaven this Halloween. I’ve never really seen anyone test out this costume, making it the perfect set for you and your bestie to stand out from the crowd. I can see it now: one outfit full of dark, horn-inspired elemental features from your local party store, and another with a pink slip dress from your local thrift stop, adorned with a crown to give your look that princessy flare.

Recreate the magic of Tiana and Lottie’s friendship with matching green and pink princess slip dresses and deck yourselves out in beads to capture the film’s New Orleans spirit.

This costume is so simple — it really only takes a pair of vintage tracksuits to master the look. Take it a step further with your bestie this Halloween and deck yourselves out in matching jean overalls and mini skirts to recreate their simplistic “simple life” image.

I was obsessed with The Suite Life of Zack & Cody growing up, so this is a must-try bestie Halloween costume. I mean, who didn’t love their friendship? Even though the two girls differed in their socioeconomic backgrounds and status, they remained extremely close, and always had each other’s backs. This costume can easily be recreated with any combination of Y2K style, but if you want to elevate the look, pair a blue collared shirt with a plaid skirt for Maddie and throw on a glamorous sequined dress for London, and you’re set with this costume.

I think it’s safe to say I was a Disney princess fan growing up, and I always played the popular game Pixie Hollow growing up. I was obsessed with the fairy movies, but this game gave me life, and I fell in love with all the fairies while doing so. This costume idea can really be executed with any pair of the fairies, but Tinkerbell and Fawn may be the most memorable. Tinkerbell can obviously be reimagined with her trademark cute green slip dress, and Fawn is similarly easy to pull off with an auburn slip dress!
