Earlier this year, I decided to start eating healthy and exercising. It can definitely be tough to be healthy on campus, but I’ve found some simple tips specific to WPUNJ that can really help. So if you’re looking to get healthier after your holiday binge over break, read on, collegiettes!

1. Go to the gym
It sounds cliché, but one of the best ways to get in shape is by exercising. The Overlook Gym has TVs on each machine, which makes working out lots of fun. Go to the gym while your favorite show is on, and you’ll be so caught up in the show that the time will just fly by.

2. Treat yourself
If you ever want a sweet treat, go to the café. They have fruit smoothies, and a few of them are just 70 calories! The Strawberry Oasis smoothie is delicious and healthy!

3. Take the long way to class
Instead of taking the shortest possible route to class, find a longer route so you can get some extra exercise. This is a simple way to burn a few calories.

4. Hit the protein bar
The dining hall has a wonderful new protein and salad bar. They always have tons of options, like tuna, chickpeas, hard-boiled eggs, and more. Stock up on these healthier options instead of filling your plates with fried foods.

5. Use the stairs
Whether you’re going to the third floor of Raubinger or down two floors in High Mountain West to your friend’s room, opt for taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
