10 Obstacles All Runners Can Relate To

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Runners are their own breed of people. We are dedicated to our running schedule, determined to reach our goals and have a lot of self-discipline. It is a fun activity that comes with tons of awesome health benefits, both physical and emotional. However, there are some obstacles that runners get tired of facing.

1. When you want to run outside but the weather is terrible.

2. So you decide to go to the gym and all of the treadmills are full…

3. When you get a cramp but run through the pain anyway.

4. Those days you actually secretly don’t want to go for your run…

5.  Deciding how to properly dress for a run.

6. Your shoes start wear out within only a couple of months, but you secretly like the excuse to get a new pair.

7. Trying to make the perfect playlist.

8. Being STARVING after a workout.

9. When you do a 5K or marathon and get super competitive.

10.  When people don’t understand that you really just felt like running.

A runner’s life can be a bit intense sometimes, but at the end of the day we still love it and lace up our shoes the next day! See you all at the finish line!
