The Best Sleep Hypnosis Videos on YouTube to Help You Cope with Mental Illnesses and Other Nagging Thoughts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

A lot of people don’t understand that anxiety and depression—two very common mental illnesses—don’t only hit at times of stress or sadness; it can hit anywhere and at anytime.

During class, during a date, during a walk to the café—or the absolute worst time it can hit—lying in bed at night trying to fall asleep. Something I try not to use every night before bed and only when I truly need it because I’m dealing with something mentally is listening to sleep hypnosis videos on YouTube. I know a lot of people who have also tried this remedy before but didn’t have the same great results as I did.

However, trying to fight anxiety and depression is all about trying out different coping techniques. So, check out some of these sleep hypnosis Jodi Whiteley videos (that happen to by my favorites!) and try them out the next time your brain hits you with those annoying, nagging thoughts.

If You Need Simple Emotional Healing….

This is one of Jodi Whiteley’s longer videos but boy does it help! If you put this on while your phone is plugged into the charger and listen to her calming voice as you fall asleep, you’ll hear her motivating and emotionally healing words as you dream, allowing you to wake up and feel refreshed.

If You’re Dealing with a Broken Heart…

Whether your heart has broken because of a breakup, a fight with a friend or a death of someone close to you, this video is exactly what you need. Whiteley reminds you as you fall asleep and as you sleep that there are hundreds of people who have gone through heartbreak and are depressed as well but are able to be happy today and that the pain is only temporary.

If You Need A Confidence Boost…

We all struggle with insecurities and confidence issues—that’s what growing up is, and it’s hard not to compare yourself to all of your friends and classmates…it’s normal. But, even though it’s normal, it isn’t healthy for your emotional or mental wellbeing because it eventually causes depression and anxiety. So, Whiteley in this video helps rebuild your confidence and allows you to wake up feeling great about yourself and the day ahead.

If You Have Depression…

Whiteley has multiple videos that you can listen to for coping with depression, but this one happens to be my favorite. She addresses what depression truly is in this video and how to cope with it and all while speaking to you as you sleep to ensure that you’ll feel better soon.

There are a ton more videos she has that are for sleep-hypnosis regarding mental health and wellbeing and subject matter as well, but as I said, these are my go to videos. There’s nothing better than waking up feeling refreshed for the day and feeling as if your anxiety and depression are that much more manageable.

Stay strong, Collegiettes!
