As I reside in quarantine, I find myself doing things to stay entertained and prevent insanity from being stuck at home like everyone else. I managed to pick up old and new hobbies, keep in touch with friends, work on projects, binge watch shows, but most of all, listen to a ton of music. Incredible albums got released by various artists in different genres which have been a lifesaver. I compiled a few of my absolute favorite songs right now that are stuck on replay and hope they give you something new to listen to or expose you to a new artist.

“Heartbreak Weather” – Niall Horan

From his new album, Heartbreak Weather, that was released less than a month ago, Niall Horan released bop after bop. I gravitate towards the first track of the album, “Heartbreak Weather”, because of its catchiness and the emotional lyrics. This song feels like it would be perfect to listen to while driving with the windows down during spring and summer with friends.

“No Shame” – 5 Seconds of Summer

Now, I may be a little biased because this song comes from my favorite band. “No Shame” by 5 Seconds of Summer comes from their newest album, CALM, and will get anyone out of their seats to dance around. Its uplifting beat may cover the deep lyrics, but a song that has been on repeat for the past month and I do not see myself turning it off anytime soon.

“Good News” – Mac Miller

As a longtime huge Mac Miller fan, his death greatly affected me. Mac is someone everyone in my hometown adored because he was a local artist with big dreams. Circles, a posthumously released Swimming companion, gives his years of work some closure. It is bittersweet for me as he put his whole heart into it, but it is one of the last songs we will ever hear from him. Knowing that may be why I am holding off on listening to the last few songs from his recently released album knowing there will never be new music from Mac Miller again.

“Golden” – Harry Styles

Everyone is aware of Harry Styles but if you have been living under a rock, “Golden” is a song from his recent album titled Fine Line. I am a new Harry Styles fan due to this album and this song will not disappoint. It is upbeat, catchy, dance-worthy, and addicting.

“3am” – Halsey

Coming from her 2020 album, Manic, this song stood out to me because it felt different from what I am used to hearing from Halsey. I am a sucker for bops that make me dance around if you could not tell already, so this is just another example of that. I feel like a lot of people can relate to the party-like, good-time lyrics, so check it out!

“Living Proof” – Camila Cabello

Camila Cabello just hits different, right? From her latest album, Romance, this is one of her singles I instantly fell in love with. This song is romantic and sexual, but the lightness of her voice and high pitches made me fall in love with this tune. It gives me magical vibes and I am just obsessed. Romance is a total masterpiece; I love every song, but I always find myself coming back for this particular melody.

“Afterglow” – Taylor Swift

I fell head over heels for Taylor Swift during her Reputation era since it was such a different sound and vibe for her which I loved. Her latest album and era, Lover, is the complete opposite, but I still adore all of her work. When I first listened to “Afterglow”, I immediately knew that this was the song that I need to hear in life. It gives me such a chill, relaxed feeling as opposed to reaching for attention. I do feel as if people do not give this song the recognition it deserves, so change that and give it a listen! You will not regret it!
