Fall and Winter quarter were rough for most students, including me. Maybe this was because of all the snow or the cold windy days, or maybe we were all sleep-deprived and needed to hibernate, but it was tough. That being said, I know that people may not have been satisfied with their grades. It’s okay to panic about it at first, and scramble to find any way you can get extra credit, but just remember to…

And then after…

Reflect and Accept.

Grades last the duration while you’re at school and probably a little bit after, but let’s be real: will anyone else even want to see your high school and college grades? Rather than staying curled up in your bed (trust me, been there done that), think of ways to improve and think about what obstacles you encountered and what you could’ve done to overcome that.It may be a hard thing to do, but realize that what’s done is done and there’s no way to change the past. Learn from your mistakes and think of ways to improve, However, thinking is just… thinking.

Put your words to your actions and actually work on it.

Put those thoughts into actions. Don’t just say that you’ll do it and then never do it.

Here’s my point:

Your grades do not define who you are. The point of going to school is to further your education and gain knowledge. Not to be the best in every subject. Not to flex about how great you are and how fast you learn. It isn’t about who has the highest GPA in the end. It’s about actually absorbing the information and changing yourself for the better. To improve your habits. To be healthy and motivated. Everyone has the potential to be better if they put in the effort.
