The Best Places to Nap on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWF chapter.

As stated in the Student Code of Conduct, “The University of West Florida is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and learning and to the development of ethically responsible individuals.” However, sometimes we need to have a quick nap in between classes to be responsible Argos and enhance our learning. If you live off campus and cannot make it back to your dorm in time, here are some of the best places to nap on campus.

The library has many accommodations if you want to nap in a secure place. You can easily ask for a study room on the fourth floor and nap in the room for up to six hours. A private room, a free charger, plus a Starbucks pick up after? Sounds great!

The commons is neither the best nor the worse place to nap. Depending on the time of day and the amount of people in the building, the commons may not be the best choice. However, it has comfortable couches and our fellow Argos are always looking out for you in case you need to relax.

On the second and third floor, there are varieties of lounge areas where students can take a deep breath and relax. If you need to be in a private room, on a couch or just at a big table, The College of Business is always a great option.

If none of these options work out for you, invest in a hammock. Some students like to listen to nature as they unwind and sleep. Hammocks are easy to set up and easy to take down before running to class.

Though the options in this article sound tempting, make sure to keep your personal belongings near you or not on you at all. Be wary for those who might take your things when you’re not looking. The best option is to use your backpack as a pillow to make sure no one takes your things.
