Some days you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and some days it feels like the entire universe has conspired to create The Worst Day Ever. When all you want to do is crawl back into bed but there are still a million things on your to-do list, here’s how to pick up a bad day:

1. Eat a healthy, hearty meal

Junk food seems good in the moment, but it can also leave you feeling even more tired later. Skip the fried stuff and try sweet potatoes, quinoa, or humus instead. You’ll feel full—minus the guilt!

2. Take a break from your phone

Stepping away from the blue light helps relax your tired eyes and brain. It’s easy to mindlessly scroll through Instagram while you’re taking a study break, but keeping off your phone during down time may just give you the space you needed to reenergize your day.

3. Wear something that makes you feel pretty

That means wearing the dress you love even though everyone else is living in leggings, or swiping on that new lipstick you’ve been dying to try. It might seem silly, but that extra boost of confidence might be just what you needed on a day when you just don’t feel like yourself.

4. Stretch it out

Exercise can feel like torture after a bad night’s sleep, but stretching can help you unkink any sore muscles. Try taking a yoga class, or even just a few simple stretches on a mat at home. Focusing on your shoulders and back helps ease any tension leftover from a stressful day.
