5 Blogs You Should Be Reading

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

Before there were “vloggers” and “beauty gurus” on YouTube, regular old bloggers ruled the internet. Blogs are fabulous because they are created for a niche audience; some relate to beauty while others center around sports. If you don’t have a few blogs as part of your daily reading rotation, then check out some of my personal favorites.

Love, Olia

Olia Majd is the ultimate beauty and fashion blogger. She posts about her outfits, makeup, and even gives amazing professional skincare tips. Olia started her blog just a few years ago, but has gained so much attention that she has landed campaigns with major brands like Neutrogena. I may also be partial towards her because she used to be an esthetician in my hometown, and made my brows look on fleek whenever I would go to her (and I’m still depressed she left to become a full time blogger).

Peanut Butter Fingers

PB Fingers is run by Julie Fagan, a bubbly blonde who loves all things fitness and cooking. Her site is extremely relaxed, and it’s a mesh of everything lifestyle-related. She regularly posts recipes and workout routines/tips, but now that she has a baby, most of her posts are about her cute family, dog Sadie, and their life in North Carolina.

Mix and Match Mama

I first heard about Shay Shull’s blog after watching her brother, Sean Lowe, as the lead on The Bachelor in 2013. The Texan mom of three is adorable in every way. She runs a personal blog about her family life, including her experience adopting a beautiful toddler from China. She also has a food blog that offers extremely easy “mix and match” recipes for people who like good-tasting food done quickly.

Healthy Hits the Spot

Paige Schmidt started her Tumblr blog many years ago, but now has her own website, which includes her blog as well as her professional information. She is now a certified health coach who teaches others how to eat intuitively. Paige’s blog is really unique, and offers many invaluable tips on how to maintain a healthy relationship with food. She is positive, sweet, and genuinely loves to interact with her readers–some of whom even turn into her clients!

Mint Arrow

This blog is pure genius, and makes my life much easier. Corrine Stokoe’s site exclusively focuses on finding deals for all of us who are a little too busy to pursue our favorite online stores on the daily. She provides links to good quality items put on really good sales, such as Kate Spade purses and Hudson jeans, making my wallet extremely happy.
