So You’ve Already Broken Your New Year’s Resolution?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UAB chapter.

Every year after the fireworks and confetti we are left to face reality. The new year’s resolutions we made are suddenly in full effect. No matter how big or small, the truth of the matter is most people won’t stick to their resolutions. Studies show that 92% of all new year’s resolutions fail!

Maybe you planned to eat healthier or to work out more. Well, we’re three weeks into the new year… and it’s possible that you’ve already started to fold.

Don’t be discouraged!

It’s best to look at the big picture. Examine the goals you have set for yourself and get more specific. How many days do you want to go to the gym? What healthy foods do you want to add to your diet? By keying in on certain things you will be able to measure your progress more easily, which is also important. Once you’re able to see yourself making progress it will serve as motivation. Remember you don’t have to go full out. Small efforts will get you to your goal eventually.

A few setbacks won’t make or break you. Don’t give up because you’ve slacked off a few times. Use each day to figure out the best way to tackle your resolution and you will be on your way to success in no time.

Ok now let’s get back to business ladies!
