With the end of the semester approaching, school is going to get very hectic soon. It is important to remember that no matter what, you need to prioritize your mental health. If you want to do well in school––or anything, for that matter––you need to be doing well mentally. With pandemic-related issues and all the heartbreaking disasters happening around the world, taking a day or two for yourself is very important. Here are some of the best ways to have a relaxing and therapeutic self-care day.

Bubble bath

If you have access to a bathtub, the best way to start your self-care day is by running a stress-free bubble bath. This can be very therapeutic because it takes your mind off all the million other things you need to do. It is also very relaxing to just lay down and have nothing to worry about. If you do not have a bathtub, taking a long shower while playing music is just as effective. Washing your hair and feeling clean after constant days of hard work is probably one of the best feelings.

Face masks and candles

Face masks and skincare products are always a fun way to pamper yourself and feel better. The mix of a perfect face mask and candle can help set the relaxing mood you have been longing for. It is always nice to get your skincare routine out of the way to feel fresh and clean throughout the day or night.

Order your favourite food

Reward yourself with your favourite food! Do not think about the gym or the calories – just order the food that makes you happiest. Eating your favourite meal while watching your comfort movie or TV show sounds like a perfect way to spend your day. It is important to listen to your body, and whatever your favourite food might be, it is always exciting to be able to eat it on a day completely dedicated to yourself.

Journal

Journaling is a great way to sort out all of your emotions and thoughts without overwhelming yourself. It is also a good way to make a list of all the things you want to accomplish in life. It helps you feel organized and prepared for what is to come. Journaling is also an important part of a self-care day because you express all of your stress and worries and find a way to overcome them through writing.

Read

Being in front of a screen for long periods can be very overwhelming. Reading is a great way to spend your day as you can immerse yourself into another world and the lives of each character. It is also a very productive way to spend your time because you can get your mind off everything and relax.
