Ole Thoughts: The Self Care Challenge

It has come to the home stretch of the current school year. You have worked harder than ever before, the maximum of blood, sweat, and tears have been put into your curriculum and extracurriculars. All that is on your mind now is how you’re going to finish the year strong while simultaneously making it out alive. The answer?

THE SELF CARE CHALLENGE.

Maybe you’re the individual that studies for hours in the library and can’t find time to go on a walk in the Natural Lands.

Maybe you are your own harshest critic and find yourself thinking or saying negative comments towards yourself.

Don’t forget about yourself. You are worthy of the best possible life.

 

 

Pick a number between 1-20 each week and complete that task.

1. Wake up in the morning and stretch to wake up your body.

2. Every time you look in the mirror, say one thing you love about yourself and one thing you’re proud of this week. 

3. Put on some headphones, listen to instrumental music, and daydream.

4. Find something to color and make it as beautiful as yourself.

5. Take a hot shower and put on your comfiest outfit.

6. Have a dance party in your room to your favorite songs. Pretend your life is a music video. Trust me! It’s amazing.

7. Do something purely for yourself that you’ve wanted to do for ages. Hair dye? Piercing? Hair cut? New outfit? Do it.

8. Snuggle up and drink a tall glass of water or a magical cup of tea. Nourish your body and relax.

9. Eat some fresh fruit to remind you of summer.

10. Put on a face mask to treat your skin. 

11. Write a letter to an elderly person that has impacted your life.

12. Spring cleaning! Throw out any clutter in your room that gives you negative feelings.

13. Go to the Pause and order a Pause cookie and ice cream. If you’re feeling daring, add Oreos or Reese’s on top.

14. Give someone a big hug. Then give yourself a big hug.

15. Post something positive on social media and then shut off your devices for the day.

16. Take a nap.

17. Write down your hopes and dreams.

18. Surround yourself with positive people who love you.

19. Find a fun exercise that you enjoy.

20. Find an amazing book to get lost in.
