Outfits That Will Take You From Class to Gym to Night Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

Today, fashion is all about versatility, and, for me, comfort. I don’t know about you guys, but I live in my gym clothes. I love the comfort yet fashion forward possibilities with all of these up and coming workout brands. I wanted to share some of my favorite exercise clothes that can go take you from the gym to class and to even a night out.

1) Keep it classy with a bit of sparkle.

The all black look is always elegant. It has been the epitome of class throughout all of fashion history. For this look, the inspiration was finding these awesome Ultracor leggings. They have two tuxedo stripes in burgundy velvet with a line of silver blue stars between the stripes. For the school look, I wanted to play the blue up by adding this baby blue bodysuit from free people and burgundy thigh high boots. For the gym look, I wanted it to be all about the leggings, so I paired the leggings with a basic black v-neck and burgundy training shoes by Nike. Obviously, for a night out, you’ve gotta add tons of sparkle and flare. These black sparkly Steve Madden boots and glimmering silver blue Victoria’s Secret crop tank are the perfect combo for anything from date night to a concert with friends.

2) Glow more than just on your skin.

This fall, muted color schemes are going to be all the rage.I mean, how could it not be? It’s so simple and comfortable and easy to accessorize. For all three looks, the primary basis of each ensemble was this awesome light mauve bodysuit I got at Lululemon. For the night out and class outfits I added these Lululemon shorts that are so comfy and cute. You can dress them up or down, which I love. The boots and fur vest I added for the school look makes for a causally dressed up look. Think snappy casual. The clear block heels are a perfect balance with the monochromatic color scheme modernizing the look. For the workout outfit, you gotta add that glow to match your sweat glow too. These Koral leggings have a glimmer that will catch anyone’s eye for some real outfit envy in the gym or anywhere you go.

3) Be precise with some stripes.

Adding color and a fun print can always give you an energetic.  These 925 Fit striped leggings I bought from Bandier were such a good find for me.  Not only do the stripes go the right way to lengthen your legs, but the colors are surprisingly easy to match with tops and shoes.  To go to class, these leggings are ideal with a basic cream-colored sweater that you can just throw over a cute sports bra and basic sandals like these Tory Burch ones.  The cold-shoulder sweater is from Alo, one of my current brand obsessions.  The sports bra with the cleavage detail is from Victoria’s Secret and so comfortable and held me up well during my yoga flow.  When I go out with friends, I love to show a little bit of skin when wearing high-waisted leggings, this lace aerie bralette is perfect for that. Since it is high neck, it shows just enough skin to be sexy and tasteful.  The suede blue block heels are by Steve Madden and bring out the blue in the leggings flawlessly.
