With Thanksgiving approaching, the second semester is coming closer and closer. Most of us, if not all, are looking forward to this break to spend time with family and friends. During this break, we can also practice self-care, be thankful to ourselves, and have time to rest.
Self-care can be extremely hard if all you are used to is go-go-go and constantly doing work 24/7. Burnout is extremely important to try to limit because it can affect someone’s mood, work ethic, and mental health. Thanksgiving break can be a time to recover from this burnout with self-care and relaxation.Â
Here are some self-care ideas to do over Thanksgiving break
Spending time with family and friendsÂ
Spending time with family and friends can uplift a mood, especially if it has been a while since you have seen them. Family makes you feel loved and welcomed, and can make you comfortable. This can ease a depressive mood and make anyone happy. They will also get you talking about school, how it is, and what your major is constantly.Â
Self-care Shopping
If you have run out of any products you use at school, now is a good time to shop for them. You can go to stores physically instead of scrolling through Amazon or Sephora. This can also produce that dopamine release that has been missing due to stress from school. Nothing feels better than opening a new skin care or makeup product and being able to use it.Â
Catching up on any Missing work
This one may seem funky, but if you are someone who is behind on schoolwork, a break can be good for you to get things done. You will not be getting any new assignments or needing to study, so it can be good to do things on your time with no rush. Getting work that needs to be accomplished can make you feel less stressed and cluttered, which will help you be ready for finals.Â
