A Pocket Guide for Soul Success this Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

How can we feel fulfilled and cultivate soul success in the midst of such a demanding time? It is important to note that success is not perfection. At times we are so focused on immediate results, that we do not take time to value the journey it takes to achieve what we’re striving for!

Here are some tips to help you feel fulfilled, confident, and intune with your soul:

Pursue Your Strengths

It is so important to gravitate towards things we flourish in and are passionate about. This can range from your field of study or simply hobbies that you thrive within. Do what makes you feel at your strongest peak. What is it that gives you an unstoppable feeling? Additionally, it is also essential to identify what we are NOT so great at and finding acceptance in it. We owe ourselves compassion.

The Power of Appreciation

The mindful practice of appreciation is a game changer in all parts of life. Taking the time to notice and acknowledge the positive aspects in any given situation, person,  setting, or even within yourself can seem like a lot of extra effort – well it is. However, when we practice appreciation we fill ourselves with optimism. Next time you are in a rough situation, think to yourself, what can I be grateful for in this very moment? This practice is not meant to ignore the fact that life really sucks sometimes, but it allows us to have the complete power and control of the perspective. Seeking value in even the smallest of things will shine a new light on your life – give it a go!

Check Your Circle

Those you decide to spend free time with, make memories alongside, and communicate with regularly can have a heavy impact on how you fee –  it may even seem unnoticeable since we are used to looking passed it at times. Your social circle should allow you to be vulnerable, boost your self-esteem, encourage healthy habits, and lead you to successful paths.  Your pals should be more than party partners. The search for great additions to your life is not always an easy one, but we must be ready to invite the types of people we know we deserve with open arms. Start new conversations and end ones that are not entirely benefiting you.

Begin your year on a fresh, rejuvenated note. Be good to your soul with these pieces of advice in mind!
