With spring break rapidly approaching, and summer quick on its heels, you may find yourself staring into your floor length mirror with a distinct frown. Maybe you haven’t gotten to the gym as often as you would have liked. Maybe you’ve indulged in one too many f’real milkshakes at the Max. But regardless the reason, you find yourself in a dire need to slim down and fit into that not-so-modest bikini in time for your spring break trip to Cancun.

Don’t worry, you’re not the first and you’re definitely not the last to fall into this trap. It happens to the best of us. Believe me. But don’t get down, for there is hope! With a few helpful tips, your hot bod will be ready for whatever your spring break has planned for you!

1. Drink Water!

This is an easy one, and it’s one we’ve always heard. Drink water! Seriously, do it! It’s a natural cleanser and will flush all the junk food you’ve been chowing down on right out of you. And if you want an extra kick, add some lemon! Spice it up with some ginger or maybe add some mint leaves; all of which will help boost your metabolism and leave you feeling healthier than you’ve felt in months!

2. Start adding circuit training.

You may find it hard getting to a gym in between all your classes, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting your heart moving! Add some circuits that you can do in your dorm room; jumping jacks, burpees, push-ups, you name it! You can start off slow, doing each exercise for 30 seconds before bumping it up to 60. It’ll pay off in the end.

3. Drink Green Tea

This is another one we may have heard, but you’d be amazed at how well it actually works. Not only does it help boost your metabolism, but it keeps your hunger from eating away at you! Just one cup of tea can get you through the entire morning feeling fresh and rejuvenated. And not only that, but feeling fit too!

4. Sleep

Now sleep is key here. We know it’s hard getting a proper nights sleep when you’ve got exams, papers, and drama on the brain but it’s a must! Without sleep, our body isn’t able to repair itself and our metabolism slows down. We’ll lose energy, forget to workout, and probably snack on that extra bag of chips because what the hell, it’s been a long day, right? So get some zZzz’s!

5. Make your own meals

We know, we know. We’re college students, remember? We don’t have money to waste on food when we’ve got all these dining facilities around us. I understand your fears, but it’s an investment that will really help you out in the long run. Buy some deli slices, bread, even invest in a few eggs! Believe us, your body will thank you for the break from all those greasy fries and grilled cheeses! And if you’re ever looking for some inspiration, check out Pinterest for some amazing ideas!

The countdown has begun, spring break is creeping up on us and we need to make sure we’re in the best possible shape when that time comes! Drink some water while you sweat it out and get your blood pumping. Drink a hot cup of tea, make a sandwich, and get some rest! You’ve got a crazy week ahead of you I’m sure.

Following these tips will ensure that you’re trip will be the best you’ve ever been on, and I guarantee that you’ll feel the best you have in ages!
