3 DIY Spa Treatments You Need To Try During Midterms

 

 

Another round of midterms, and my skin is angry with me, my bottle of dry shampoo is dangerously close to empty, and I can’t tell whether the mark on my hand is mascara from a previously wiped tear or pen ink. I sure could use a spa day. You can relate? Lucky for you, I scoured countless Pinterest boards to find a solution. Here are 3 DIY spa treatment recipes you can try during your next study break.

1. Honey and coconut oil face mask

What it does: Brightens your complexion and shrinks pores.  

What you need:

1 tablespoon coconut oil

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions:

Combine honey, coconut oil, and lemon juice.

Mix it until it becomes a sticky, slightly thick texture.

Apply to your face.

Leave on for 15-20 minutes.

Rinse off!

2. Vanilla Lavender Sugar Scrub

 

What it does: Softens skin.

What you need:

1 cup sugar

½ cup coconut oil

½ teaspoon vitamin E oil

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

15 drops lavender essential oil

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together.

Scrub a small amount on your hands, feet, or body.

Leave on for a few minutes.

Rinse off!

What it does: Adds shine and moisture, reduces frizz, repairs damage to your hair.

What you need:

1 avocado

2 eggs

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon honey

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

Apply to your hair, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots.

Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
