Getting a higher score on the SATs than my sister, Getting Dean’s List first semester at W&M, Running 10k across GW bridge in under an hour, and of course watching every episode of Friends

Where can you be found on a typical weekend?
Volunteering at the Humane Society feeding kittens warm milk as I pet their soft fur wearing nothing but an apron.

Describe your typical day at W&M:
Wake up, go to all my classes (all in the morning) go to marketplace with the bros, chill in my room, do some reading, watch some tv, go for a run, go to Sadler, then finally go to SWEM to get work done.

Play any instruments?
Yeah, I play saxophone. I also played piano but not anymore.

Play any sports?
I played baseball until an accident during senior year of high school.

Ideal Girl

Hair color: I like blonde hair…but if the girl has good hair it doesn’t really matter.

Tall or short: I’m a big guy so I need a girl who’s tall but not freakishly tall. 5’8 is good.

Nice eyes or nice smile: Nice smile

Girl in sweats or in a dress:
The good answer would be sweats…..hair tied, sweatpants, chillin with no makeup on, that’s when you’re the prettiest”…. In the end, it’s personality that matters, not looks.

Worst thing a girl can wear: Boot cut jeans

Best thing a girl can wear: Anything she’s comfortable in, but I really like sundresses.

What do you prefer, a girl who plays an Instrument or a sport?
Can’t it be both?

Least favorite thing about girls at W&M: Not enough girls go out Thursday nights.

First thing you notice about a girl: Her confidence

Night in or night out: Night out and just going out to a house party. Night in can get kind of boring. Night out and anything can happen.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Ability to control stuff with my mind

Ideal first date: Sitting by a fire listening to my Enrique Iglesias vinyl collection.

Random hookups or meaningful relationship:
If the girl is worth it, I’d be willing to consider a relationship. But at the same time, I’m not really looking for a relationship. If she’s a totally awesome girl I’d totally wife her up.

Most annoying phrases girls say:
Yolo and anything with a hashtag. No explanation necessary.

Favorite thing about William & Mary: Female dining service workers

Pet names – cute or annoying?
Annoying. I find it childish and I don’t think you need a special name for someone to show them you like them.

Romantic or thriller movie when you take a girl out on a date: Thriller. I wanna get her heart rate going.

Girliest movie you’ve ever watched?
I own Clueless. I think it’s a very funny and witty movie. I own Mean Girls too. Everyone loves that movie.

If you had one last day to live, what would you do?
I know exactly what I’d do. I’d get on a plane and go to the Salar de Uyuni. It’s the world’s largest salt flat, located in Bolivia. I’d wanna go right when it rains because when the sun hits it’s beautiful. I’d take the girl i’m in love with at the time.

If a girl makes the first move, do you like it or not? I like it. I feel flattered. It shows her confidence.

Name: Danny Mullen (aka Daniel James Brian Mullen)
Year: Senior
Major: History

Danny is currently a 4th-year from Sacramento who has been released from his last three on-campus jobs due to frequent absenteeism (let’s be realistic ladies—he probably thinks the jobs aren’t cute enough for him). He also has an “irrational fear” of all animals—even though there haven’t been any provoking incidents, and prefers home to LA due to the fact that he feels safer after crossing a few too many people here at school. All in all, this Campus Cutie definitely kept me entertained as he answered interview questions with a bit of sass, sarcasm, and sometimes sincerity.

Pick one place and three things you would bring for the best day/night ever.
The California desert. I’d bring a bottle of Whiskey (Barret’s), a frying pan, and a Smith and Wesson 38.

A Day In The Life of a Frat Boy…
Wake up around 1pm, followed by a 45-minute to hour-long shower. Then I usually parade around my room for a little while (yes, naked, and he does leave the window intentionally open). At 3pm, I start off my day by climbing a tree on Strathmore and Gayley and throwing eggs at passing cars [he kindly agreed to avoid my car]. I usually go to my Communications class and heckle the teacher for about fifteen minutes before leaving and heading to Powell, where I wander around the reading room while breathing heavily. After arriving back home, I watch reruns of Dharma and Greg and drink two bottles of Nyquil, to pass out and repeat.

Craziest memory of your time at UCLA: The time I split a 6-pack of Mike’s Hard and watched the Star Wars trilogy with my roommate.

Celebrity crush: Barbara Streisand.

So you’re dating a really hot girl and you find out that your very best friend is falling for you and trying to replace her. What do you do?
Smash a bottle and invite them both over on a Thursday night. YOLO.

What have you gotten out of this experience?
I’ve learned how to manage my time well.

What are you involved in at IU?
I’m in Sigma Phi Epsilon, and I’m the vice president of programming. I’m a member of CASL: Council for Advancing Student Leadership. Also, one of my fraternity brothers is running on The Big Ten Ticket for IUSA, and I’m helping him with his campaign.

Why do you like best about being in a fraternity?

There’s always something to do in the house. You can never be bored there.

Why did you decide to come to IU?
My family is a big IU family, and the business school is great here. Also, my dad went here and is a huge IU fan. When my older sister and I were younger, he used to tell us that if we said Purdue more than six times, our tongues would fall out. I was always too scared so I said it four or five times, and then my sister said it more than six times, but her tongue didn’t fall out.

Balanced. I’m involved in a lot in and outside of school, and I give a good amount of time to do everything I do. I’m pretty committed, and I also think I have a good sense of humor, which helps.

We searched high and low for this week’s Campus Cutie and he rose to the occasion. Keynon Hawkins is a modern campus cutie who’s funny, outgoing and intelligent. But don’t let the silliness fool you, when’s it’s time to get down to business Keynon makes sure he puts his game face on. What else would you expect from a future corporate lawyer?

When talking about a difficult event he was trying to organize, he said that he was down for the challenge. See how he reacted to taking the challenge of our campus cutie survey.

Name: Keynon Hawkins
Hometown: Philadelphia Pa
Year: Sophomore
Major:  Economics Pre-Law
Relationship status: Happily Single
Zodiac Sign: Team Gemini All day Baby!

On-Campus Activities:
Proud member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, Vice-president of the residence hall counsel for Wallwork Hall, Public Relations Chair for the Inter-Fraternity Council

What would be your ideal first date:
I am a firm believer in the notion that people can have a fun and romantic time without spending too much money. Some of the best dates I had were simply just walking around L.O.V.E Park and around downtown Philadelphia, talking and getting to know the person I’m with.

What would be a dealmaker in a relationship:
If you’re a bit quirky, nerdy, and intelligent then you would definitely have my full attention. I think people are most beautiful if they are themselves and do not try too hard to make themselves seem attractive or appealing.

And a deal breaker:
Being too self-centered or overconfident! If a majority of your time is spent looking in the mirror, taking pictures of yourself, or constantly talking about yourself then you can just strut right on by me.

Celebrity Crushes:
Zoe Saldana, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter (I have a strong admiration for acting abilities)

If you were on a deserted island, which three things would you have to have with you:
Assuming that that the island is tropical, food and water should already be in abundance in which case I’ll need a machete (For scavenging food and wood and also for defensive reasons) a first aid kit in case of an emergency and a satellite radio so I can make calls for help and broadcast distress signals.

If you won the lottery, what would you do:
I would first use a portion of the money to make sure I put my mom and my immediate family up somewhere nice and comfortable. Then I’ll use the rest of the money to continue my education.

Any Hobbies:
Well I’m a huge game nerd! I’ve been playing video games since about the age of 3! I am also somewhat of a movie freak I can watch almost any movie as long as I don’t find it asinine.
