Campus Cutie: Nate Deysher

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.
This cutie loves bad puns, is an avid reader, and is already a Phi Beta Kappa!
Hometown: Lebanon, PA
Major: English and Comparative Humanities
Class Year: 2013

The Basics:

  • Favorite book: too tough – tossup between The Road by Cormac McCarthy, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey and Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather
  • Favorite Movie: The Great Mouse Detective
  • Favorite Store: Used bookstores, especially if they have a cat – the more cats, the better your chances of scoring an interesting find
  • Most Played Song on your iPod: Drops In the River by Fleet Foxes
  • Favorite Class at Bucknell: Greece & Turkey: East & West – a three-week trip led by the dynamic duo of John Hunter and Stephanie Larson. I’ve always loved Greek mythology and ancient history, so it was awesome to actually visit sites I had learned about
  • Campus Activities: Gateway RA, chapel choir and concert chorale, club soccer, Chi Phi fraternity, piano lessons, student lectureship committee, tutor
  • Campus Posse: Im-posse-ble to nail down a specific group, it depends on what I’m doing
  • General Interests: Reading, writing, making music, soccer, Legos, eating peanut butter bare-handed from the jar, puns
  • Little Known Fact: When I was a baby, a bat got inside the apartment – my parents ran out and left me to fend for myself. I don’t remember if I got bitten, but luckily I haven’t turned into a vampire yet – so-nar so good.

Girls, Girls, Girls:

  • Relationship Status: Single
  • What do you look for in a girl: Unafraid to be herself. Smart and witty, but equally goofy and spontaneous. She also has to have an extremely high tolerance for bad puns.
  • Female turnoff: Self-centered
  • Celebrity Crush: Alex Morgan

Best of the Rest:

  • Proudest Accomplishment: Maybe not really an accomplishment, but for a school project, I had the opportunity to interview Dick Winters (from Band of Brothers). He was one of the most humble people I’ve talked to, and I’ve always tried to incorporate what he said into my own life. I’m also proud of winning my family’s fantasy baseball league last year – serious bragging rights.
  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Hopefully married with a family, doing something that I love, and having the chance to travel every now and then.
  • 3 words to describe yourself: Creative, dedicated, thoughtful
Sarah Dubow graduated from school in 2013 and is a Digital Strategist at Marina Maher Communications in New York City. After serving as Campus Correspondent at Bucknell University, she is so excited to continue being a part of the Her Campus team! Besides traversing the city and trying to figure out what being a "real person" really means, Sarah loves long walks on the beach, sipping pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (kidding!). Real favorites include traveling, writing, kickboxing, and making up ridiculous lyrics to the latest songs. She absolutely loves anything that involves cupcakes, butterflies, glitter, and anything Parisian and specializes in baking with far too much chocolate and obsessively watching shows bound to be cancelled after the first season. Though the long term path for this post-grad collegiette remains unclear, she's looking forward to all the new 20-something adventures that await her!
