Now, I’m not someone who is afraid of trying new drinks. But, Starbucks is filled with so many new, tasty treats and wild, celeb-inspired secret menu items — it’s a little overwhelming. However, if you’re an astro-lover like me, there’s a way you can try a new drink without overthinking it: The stars have got you covered.
On March 20, Starbucks teamed up with the popular astrology app, Sanctuary, and recruited the cosmos as their newest barista. By going to their specialized website, StarbucksStarSigns.com, you enter your zodiac sign to begin. From there, you’ll be asked whether you’re a morning coffee drinker, afternoon sipper, or somewhere in between. The result? A tasty drink picked just for you by the universe itself (well, and an app algorithm).
Here’s one of the best parts: Starbucks actually teamed up with an astrologer who helped develop and curate the drink matches. Lauren Ash, a Sanctuary astrologer and content creator, worked on this special initiative and used her knowledge to find bevvys that fit each of the zodiac’s personalities.
“When developing the star sign and drink pairings, we looked at the core personality traits of each sign to identify a beverage that acts as an expression of your planetary ruler,” Ash said in a statement. “March is the start of Aries season, and Aries are known to be bold and confident. These readings are designed to empower anyone, regardless of star sign, to lean into that energy with the fresh start of spring.”
And, if you didn’t notice, this collaboration dropped on the Spring Equinox — one of the most powerful days on the astrological calendar.
