We’re only three months into 2023, and this year is absolutely wild in terms of celebrity relationships. With the whole Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner relationship, the rumors around Alix Earle and Devon Booker, and the absolute wildcard of Tyga and Avril Lavigne, this seems to be the year of odd pairings. And it’s only about to get more loopy, because this new (reported) trending couple was 1,00% not on my bingo card.
On April 6, the internet spontaneously burst into flames after rumors started swirling that Kylie Jenner and Timotheé Chalamet are reportedly hooking up. According to a DeuxMoi blind item, the two are apparently dating, and will both be at Coachella the weekend of April 8. Her Campus reached out to both Chalamet and Jenner’s teams for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication. While there’s no video evidence (or even any evidence at all) of these two being a couple, the internet is absolutely blowing a fuse, and nobody knows how to act .
The blind item really doesn’t say much, TBH. Posted on Deux Moi’s story, the anonymous tip says “Anon pls!! Multiple sources have told me that Timmy C has a new girl… Kylie Jenner” followed by two coffin emojis. After the story was posted, two more nameless tippers “confirmed” the rumor. But, if I’m going to be a total party pooper, there’s just a slim change this is actually real.
While Chalamet and Jenner haven’t commented much on their current relationship status, Chalamet has been linked to his Bones And All costar, Taylor Russel, since November 2022 — though neither have either confirmed or denied a relationship. After Jenner’s split with her longtime partner (and father of her children) Travis Scott in January 2023, the reality star and beauty mogul has been pretty silent in terms of her love life. So, with this blind item circulating, the internet is freaking out… over nothing, IMHO.
Let’s really think about this. Sure, both Jenner and Chalamet may be attending Coachella. Yeah, they both are most likely single. And OK, there’s one video on Twitter of the two meeting at an event in January. But I was once seated next to Scott Disick at a club, and I can assure you we were never linked in any way. Blind items are notoriously shady, and sometimes have no shred of truth to them. So, if you’re in a frenzy about the couple, take a deep breath. It’s probably not true. Like, at all.
Still, that’s not stopping the internet’s reaction. Some people are absolutely losing their minds.
Others are just, like, really confused.
Luckily, I’m not alone in my skepticism.
Neither Chalamet nor Jenner have commented on the rumors, but I’ll be sure to update you if they do. All I can say is, keep your eyes peeled for all of the Coachella drama coming up.
