These Pop Star & Athlete Romance Books Are Totally Tayvis-Coded

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance reminds me of the romance novels I daydream about all day, every day. This blossoming union quickly caught the attention of Swifties and, surprisingly, sports fans everywhere. All eyes are currently on them — from Taylor supporting Travis at his games to Travis attending her concerts. I wish there was a book to keep up with the Tayvis lore.

As a romance girlie myself, I’m a very big fan of romance books where the main character is famous or has some sort of status — bonus points if they’re a singer, influencer, or sometimes even an athlete. And not to be dramatic, but most of what I learned about sports has come from sports romance books (thank you, Kennedy Ryan). Therefore, combining the two sounds like a match made in heaven in my opinion.

But what I’ve learned through the many books I’ve read is this: There’s a book for everyone. So if you’re a reading swiftie who’s looking for a romance novel that reminds them of Tayvis, look no further cause I have a few picks just for you!

Love’s A Game By Kaiden Howell

This first book is absolutely perfect if you want Travis and Taylor vibes. It follows Kenzie Tyler, a famous pop star, and Nic Bennet, a star NFL player who absolutely has no plans of settling down until he finds Kenzie. This book is a novella so it is on the shorter side but makes the cutest romance to snuggle up with!

Marrying The Quarterback by Roxanne Steele

Marrying the Quarterback by Roxanne Steele is about a famous pop star, Riley who is set to headline the Super Bowl Halftime show. She catches her then-husband cheating and, on her path to recovery, she finds professional football player Tyler and it is a match made in heaven. If you love dual-POV and the “touch her and die” trope as much as I do, then you’ll definitely like this one!

Superfan by Sarina Bowen

This next read is a second-chance romance between a hockey player and a singer. I really like this one because the male main character is actively fighting to win the girl over from her toxic boyfriend (love the effort). I totally recommend this to my Tayvis fans who are also hockey girls at heart!

Quarterback Draw by Jaci Burton

Quarterback Draw by Jaci Burton is slightly different from Tayvis because the female main character is a supermodel but it still has the same vibes. The novel follows football player Grant and supermodel Katrina, who is too busy to go out and have fun, let alone date. That is until she meets Grant who Katrina is hesitant to open up to. If you love the “guy falls first” trope then this is for you!

The Cheatsheet by Sarah Adams

The Cheatsheet is a #Booktok favorite but is definitely relevant when it comes to Travis and Taylor. It follows an ex-ballerina and popular football player who pretends to be in love with his public image. I absolutely love fake-dating and this book is perfect for Tayvis because it follows a performer and a sports player.

Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley

This next read is about a famous reality star-turned-baker, Jada who turned down a proposal on live television. In hopes of saving the bakery co-owned by professional football player Donovan, Jada turns to pretending that she and Donovan are an item in order to save her cupcakes and her image.

Playing Hurt by Kelly Jamieson

Finally, Playing Hurt by Kelly Jamieson is a hockey player and pop star romance about a hockey player, Chase, who becomes very flirty with a struggling pop star on social media, who happens to be a fan of his team. This pop star then goes on a date with Chase in hopes of connecting with him and her favorite team. This book is perfect for all the fangirls at heart who need a little hope.

BRB while I update my TBR for next year! 2024 is giving romance all the way. Swifties, I hope you find these picks well and love them as much as Tayvis!
