Lose the Freshman 15: Managing Stress the Healthy Way!

Hello, hello my favorite ladies!

I don’t know about you, but here at Temple the end of the semester is among us and I am stressed to the MAX. Usually, I tend to soothe my end of semester pains by indulging in any comfort food  that I can get my hands on, but this semester that’s not gonna fly. I’ve whipped up a go-to list of “Lose the Freshman 15” approved stress relievers and I can’t wait to share them with you ladies. Check them out below!

1. Hit the gym

Nothing melts away the stress faster than a nice hard cardio session. When I’m at my breaking point, I’ve found that Self’s HITT routines are a perfect way to unwind. Not only does the workout give me 45-minutes to take my mind off of all the stress in my life, but I also leave feel a whole lot better about myself after an intense cardio session!

2.Meditation, meditation, meditation.

Bubble baths are my ish. One of my favorite ways to let loose after a long stressful day is to create a soothing environment in the tub. I line the room with candles and break out the lavender scented body wash and the stress just melts away. Ahhhh.

3. Cook a fancy (and healthy) meal.

Sometimes focusing on a recipe can help me take my mind off of a particularly stressful day. In the past I’ve tried my hand at some pretty filling, not-so-great- for- you recipes, but with Self’s recipe plan now I cook meals the healthy way! I’ve been dying to try out their Cilantro-Lime Shrimp Tacos and this is the perfect opportunity.

By using these tactics I’ll make it through finals (hopefully) the healthy way! What are some of your favorite ways to de-stress? Let me know in the comments!
