In recent years, the WNBA Draft has become one of the biggest and buzziest nights in sports, with college players getting recognized for their NCAA accomplishments and finding out what their future in professional sports will look like (all while rocking incredible outfits, of course). But while many athletes — like UConn’s Paige Bueckers, Notre Dame’s Sonia Citron, and French player Dominique Malonga — experienced some of the highest highs of the night, others experienced the lowest of the lows. One such player who falls decidedly into the latter camp is TCU’s Sedona Prince, who didn’t get drafted at all.
Even if you’re not a basketball fan, you may have heard Prince’s name before. That’s because she’s pretty famous on TikTok — to the tune of 2.5 million followers. One of her earliest claims to fame was in 2021, when she posted a viral video calling out the differences in how the NCAA treated men versus women athletes during basketball tournaments. However, she hasn’t always gone viral for positive reasons. In August 2024, Prince’s ex and fellow TikToker Liv Stabile posted a 10-part video series detailing her breakup from Prince, which detailed instances of alleged abuse — a claim echoed by other former partners of Prince’s. Prince has denied ever being abusive, both in a TikTok video and via lawyer. Her Campus reached out to Prince’s team at the time for comment but didn’t hear back.
As of April 15, it’s unclear if Prince’s off-court drama had anything to do with her WNBA Draft snub. (FWIW, she also sustained multiple injuries in her college career, and at almost 25 years old, she is significantly older than the average rookie.) However, what is clear is that at least one of her exes is taking Prince’s not being drafted as a W. Soon after the WNBA Draft ended and it was clear Prince wasn’t getting drafted, Stabile took to TikTok to share what appeared to be her reaction to the news.
The video features Stabile breaking out into a huge smile before covering her face, set to the song “She Will” by Lil Waye — specifically, the lyrics, “What goes around, comes around like a hula hoop. Karma is a b*tch? Well just make sure that b*tch is beautiful.” Stabile captioned the video, “day is made.”
Considering the timing of when the video was posted, the lyrics referencing “karma,” and Stabile’s clear expression of joy, fans are convinced Stabile was referencing Prince’s misfortune. “Purrrrrrrr wnba clocked her for all of yall,” one user wrote in the comment section of the video. Another commented, “Girl I thought about you. I’m so happy she ain’t get drafted. Amen.”
At the time of publication, Prince has yet to comment about her WNBA Draft snub or what her future in basketball may look like.
