Jack Harlow Might’ve Manifested A Relationship With Dua Lipa

While I was too busy investigating the MBTI personality connections in my Spotify wrapped, I missed something else brewing in the music world: Jack Harlow manifesting his rumored new relationship with Dua Lipa. No, seriously; who knew naming a song after someone would lead to a possible new fling a few months later?

Harlow made his presence known this year in the music industry and on the internet, but JustJared reports that the “Dua Lipa” rapper is now romantically linked to the artist he wrote the infamous song about. According to Page Six, the two have been in “constant communication” since their brief interaction and a photo was taken on Dec. 3 at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles. Her Campus reached out to Harlow’s and Lipa’s teams for comment, but did not receive a response by the time of publication. This rumor comes after Lipa was previously rumored to be dating comedian Trevor Noah after being spotted in New York’s East Village in September.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m rooting for this potential celebrity couple and have been devouring any possible interactions between the two to satisfy my relationship timeline cravings. Let’s take a look at Harlow and Lipa’s brief interaction history and hope for more than just a feature between them.

May 6, 2022: Harlow releases the track “Dua Lipa” on Come Home The Kids Miss You

In May of this year, Harlow released his highly anticipated second studio album, Come Home the Kids Miss You. The album featured major hit tracks such as “First Class,” which helped Harlow’s musical career soar; however, one track stood out among the album. One of the songs on the album was titled “Dua Lipa,” which was quickly recognized as a reference to the same-named singer. The European artist is mentioned in the song’s lyrics: “She’s a European, and she know I’m seeing extra” and “Dua Lipa, I’m tryna do more with her than do a feature.” My heart can’t take all of this obvious flirting.

May 6, 2022: Harlow talks about Lipa in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

The Breakfast Club radio show, which aired on the same day as the album release, featured an interview with Harlow in which he discussed his albums, his future goals, and his conversation with Lipa about the song.

When asked if Lipa had responded to the song being named after her, Harlow said, “Not publicly.” He added, “I wanted to get her blessing, so I FaceTimed her and played it for her because I didn’t want her to be blindsided about that or feel […] creeped out or anything. If she said, ‘Yo, I hate it, I don’t want it to come out,’ it wouldn’t have came out. But she was like, ‘Oh, I mean, it’s not my song. I suppose it’s okay.'”

Harlow was then asked by co-host Charlamagne Tha God if he “fancied” Lipa and if that was why he made the record, to which he shyly replied that he admired her. He also pointed out that the FaceTime call helped to make their future conversations less awkward!

Dec. 3, 2022: Harlow and Lipa have a photo exchange at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch.

Variety hosted its annual Hitmakers Brunch on Dec. 3. The brunch is an invitation-only event that honors the artists, producers, writers, publishers, and others who contribute to the creation of the top 25 songs of the year. This year, the event featured a star-studded lineup, including the first-ever in-person meeting between Harlow and Lipa. The two had a brief conversation on the red carpet and even took photos together.

Dec. 9 & 10, 2022: Harlow and Lipa are reportedly spotted together in New York.

This is where our dating rumors got serious. According to Page Six, Harlow reportedly flew to New York City to meet with Lipa after her Z100 Jingle Ball performance on Dec. 9. The next day, on Dec. 10, it was reported that the two were spotted separately arriving for lunch at a restaurant in the Meatpacking District.
