My Ranking of Alani Nu Energy Drinks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

As a college student, I could always use a little more energy during my day. I tend to gravitate towards Starbucks, but on the days where I’m sick of my same old coffee or tea order, I need something else to keep me going through class.

It’s safe to say that Alani Nu energy drinks have saved me more than once. With fun packaging and amazing flavors, the company has so many options to choose from. Each drink has 200 mg of caffeine with no sugar, along with B vitamins to help carry you through a busy schedule. With so many options, it can be difficult to pick which flavor to have. With that said, here’s my ranking of these yummy energy drinks.

  1. Mimosa

This one tastes like a fancier version of orange juice. I like having this in the morning if I know I have a busy day ahead of me. Not too sweet or overpowering, I feel like this is a great introduction to the Alani Nu brand.

  1. Breezeberry

This tastes like the best version of blue raspberry! So unique and the perfect mix of fruity and sweet, I feel like breezeberry is one of my absolute favorites and one I treat myself to when I’ve been having a crappy week. And the name is fun, too!

  1. Arctic White

Honestly, the flavor of arctic white is pretty tough to describe, but I can’t help but love it! Drinking this is like drinking a Sprite or a 7-Up, but will give you more energy. I think this one would be perfect for those that are fans of clear soda and need a pick-me-up.

  1. Tropsicle

Tropsicle makes me want to be sitting on a beach somewhere eating pineapple all day in the sun. I can even detect a hint of orange, which complements the pineapple to offer a mid-day escape from all of your responsibilities.

  1. Hawaiian Shaved Ice

This reminds me of the melted liquid at the bottom of your snow cone that you drink out of the paper cup when you’re done eating. Sort of an odd experience to put into an energy drink, but somehow, it works! I wouldn’t say that it’s one of my favorites, though, since I don’t find myself craving it on a regular basis.

  1. Watermelon Wave

This one is usually hit or miss for me depending on the mood I’m in. I usually really like watermelon flavored things, but this has a sort of off taste that reminds me more of strawberry than watermelon. Not bad, but not necessarily a stand-out.

  1. Cosmic Stardust

I know so many people love this flavor. In fact, when my sister and I tried it, we agreed that it tasted a lot like the fruit snacks we’d eat as kids. However, I often find myself getting sick of the taste after drinking just half of the can. So, in my opinion, this one is worth the skip.

The brand also has a few other flavors that I have yet to get my hands on. Cherry Slush is extremely popular, and the brand often collaborates with social media influencers in the fitness world, and even produces limited edition products around certain holidays. Overall, I feel like there’s definitely an Alani Nu drink for everyone, and it’s a good idea to have a few stocked up in your fridge for those days when life just seems really crazy.
